New Releases day is always a good day, but today's crop of preorders is particularly happy making

This series continues to be excellent and one of my favorites

I love the Phoebe and Her Unicorn books, and this one was no exception. Fun and funny.

It's not been nothing but reading. Also baked a thing: apple cake, a favorite from my childhood.

This was just a delight. It makes me long for autumn, and I loved Josie and Deja. And the pumpkin patch they work at? Yes, please.

I thought the pacing was just slightly off, especially in the middle, but by the end I didn't really care. Enjoyed the characters and Emoni's journey as a high school senior, single mother, and aspiring chef, and I *loved* the food details.

I wanted to love this, but I found the characters flat and the dialogue really clunky. Oh, well. Onwards.

Second book in my week of reading: Tinsel Fish. Enjoyed this second outing with Gideon and Lee. This one was creepier than the first, and nicely expands the world these stories take place in.

I didn't sink into this as fully as I'd hoped I would, but I loved the premise, and the characters, and the story. Will probably check out more in the series.
