Penguin Clothbound Classics are the fastest way to my heart 😍
I can always tell when my kitten has been climbing my bookshelves, because she pulls the same book out as a foothold every single time 😂 I guess she‘s a Murakami fan too!
I was lucky enough to see the phenomenal stage version of this story over the weekend, and it was the inspiration I needed to finally conquer this beast. Plus, this gorgeous Penguin Clothbound edition doesn‘t hurt!
Y‘all, I got to listen to THE Jacqueline Woodson speak tonight and she is one of the most incredible of all time.
When your boss comes in with a bag full of ARCs and lets you take your pick 😍😍😍 #librarianperks
Getting ready to do some Fiction weeding...can you guess what letter I‘m on?
Some wine, some cake, and a REALLY good book for a frozen night.
There‘s this sinister, kind of queasy nastiness in Jessica Knoll‘s books that is so unlike other authors and that makes her books so hard to shove into a category—chick lit, thriller, etc. It feels like finding out the dirty truth you‘re not sure you wanted to know, but can‘t look away from. This was a great read.
I had to hide in my office because I was sobbing over this book. What a beautiful heartbreaker this was.
This was such a quick, sweet read. Surprisingly upbeat for being about the dead!
I FINALLY have a purse big enough to fit books again and I couldn‘t be happier 😍
1. Cranberry sauce. It‘s not sauce, it‘s jello, and it‘s WEIRD.
2. Mystery
3. Probably Instagram!
4. 7 animal babies! Three dogs—Jasper, Finn, and Biscuit—and four cats—Dixie, Josie, Georgia, and Dexter. They don‘t all live together, though
5. Will do!

What better way to spend a morning? #catsoflitsy
I think I'm technically an hour or so late for #NationalCatDay, but who's gonna say no to these adorable babies? #GeorgiaAndDex
Re: my last post: here are some of my favorites from what I've already read from our book club list. I'm looking forward to adding many more to this list!
Part of my job as a librarian is selecting and managing our (pretty large) book club in a bag collection. In an effort to better serve patrons, I decided to read all 260 titles my county offers. I've already read 73 on my own. Here's what I've got on my shelves, which is going to make up my reading list for the foreseeable future. First up: Manhattan Beach, a brand-new addition.
Believe it or not, this was the result of me showing great restraint at a used book sale.
"Yes, but I'm worried I will leave grad school and no longer be able to speak English. I know this woman, a friend of a friend, and just listening to her talk is scary. The semiotic dialectics of intertextual modernity. Which makes no sense at all. Sometimes I feel that they live in a parallel universe of academia speaking academese instead of English and they don't really know what's happening in the real world."
