A refreshing book with a mature heroine. For once it is not a teenager who discovers she has powers but a forty-year-old divorced mother. She is not perfect but honest with some snarky comments. I liked the fact that she was chosen on merit and has trouble always being objective and doing the right thing. The story fluently draws in the other magical creatures that live on the estate as well as a certain sexy agent from the underworld.

Busy with Graveyard Waltz ARC - the second book in the series and it is yummy !!!

The Murderess of Mayfair: A Second Chance at Love is a Regency romance with everything it needs to make a wonderful read. There are balls, deceit, disguises, and do not forget the heart-racing sensual encounters between the main characters. What is refreshing is the fact that the story focuses on two commoners who are happy not to be part of the Ton.

This is a great book for young and old. Love the rhyming.

There is a lot of potential but it just did not do it for me.

I might just read more from this author in future.

A Flight of Broken wings is an enchanting and riveting fantasy of humans and Aeriels who are in constant conflict. Ruban is the top Hunter on Earth and Ashwin an Aeriel prince in disguise on a secret mission. Together they face battle and lies; betrayal and heroics and a shared love for their planet. If you love fantasy this is a fresh new world with lots of action and adventure. A good read.

I love these books. They are such a refreshing paranormal fairytale mashup that I get lost in them and feel as if I am there with the friends and their struggles. Now to wait in suspense for the Devil to come…

This action-filled audiobook is captivating, and you need to continue listening. I kept checking how much time was left in the book as I did not want the story to end.

In The History of Vampires, Amanda Lewis tells a story filled with strong yet humble characters. Personalities from history grace the pages with their appearance in a story that sets the scene for a great series to follow.

Late Checkout by Beth Dolgner is the second book in the Eternal Rest Cozy Mysteries series. Emily Buchannan has her hands full as she receives some businessmen who are planning to renovate and reopen an old hotel just outside Oakhill. The townspeople are not excited this and soon rumours are all over town.

Evan is my favourite vanilla sleuth. He has determination and physical resilience. His stories are riveting and unputdownable. After Harry Dresden my favourite books to read.

Patricia Shade succeeds in delivering an excellent performance that holds the listener‘s attention and conveys the mysterious atmosphere that surrounds the events that unfold in and around the Bed and Breakfast.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves YA lit as well as the paranormal.

This was my first experience with an Audible book, and it was a good one. The story was engaging, and the narrator has a voice that enhances the story's supernatural elements. As I mainly read for escapism, it does not matter whether the area in which the story occurs is accurate. For me, believable and relatable characters are more important.

I enjoyed the story and would like to listen to or read the next instalment.

This is a light and engaging cosy mystery. Mia Bold a part-time debunker of paranormal events, finds herself without a job. She moves to Salem when offered a job as a podcast host. Soon Mia finds herself the prime suspect in a murder case.
Mia must face the challenge and use her sleuthing talents to find out what happened the night of the murder and who might be responsible. Will she uncover the truth in time...

The Witching place was a pleasurable read. It is a light whodunnit in true cosy style. Rachel Sage has always wanted to own a second-hand book store like the one her father had when she was a child. Faced with nothing holding her back she decides to move to a little seaside town to work at the Curious Bookstore
The bookstore proves to have its secrets and Rachel is soon in trouble.

I am still processing. Heavy reading material.

Halo Graphic Novel. Lazy Saturday read.

The only reason she wouldn‘t win this year‘s Darwin Award was because they‘d never find her body.

This is a suspenseful thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is not a book that you read to relax. It is filled with action and intrigue, conveying the frightening reality of stumbling across a serial killer who is very intelligent and relentlessly driven by grief and revenge.
Loved the book.

Vampires, Necromancers, Hunters, and Psychopathic cults all come together to make a great YA Fantasy. Sera is contacted by Nate to help him find his son. Meanwhile, she has to try and solve the murder of her previous client and becomes mixed up in an ominously overfriendly cupcake cult. All of this while she has to rebuild her relationship with her sister, whose best friend is a ghost from the Victorian era.

There just is an unmistakable difference between American, British and Danish crime novels. After reading Jo Nesbo and Inger Wolf I have developed a taste for Danish novels. Through the eyes of cynical and troubled policemen, you see a different side of the country and what the life of fighting crime does to a person.

Wolves did not hope. They accepted life as it came and learned to flow with the path of their padding paws. One could not change the past nor predict the future, so to worry or mourn with regret the way things happened was foreign to animals of the wild.

As many books deal with downtrodden or idealistic policemen or PI's this was refreshing something different. Reminiscent of Wiseguy back in the '80s the main character is a good guy who got out of a life of crime. The book is believable and was a pleasure to read. So many books leave you on the edge of criminal families and the way they function. This story was just a little short for me, I do like a nice thick book. It was a pleasure to read.

This is a short story found in the anthology The Flying Sorcerers. It is pure Pratchett and one of my personal favorites.
