This book was just the mystery/thriller that I needed, an easy read that was also a survivor story. But what jumped out for me the most was that this was a coming-of-age story for the MC, Sera. And really this is a journey of her trying to escape the place that's she in, both physically and in her mental image/space. The writer really did her job by opening a teenager's mind so that the reader could relate.
Pick 3 of the #readathon thin and this writing is pure gold. I want to mark up all the pages because ahh 😍👍🏼
It ends with us- all the missing girls, a long way gone
Baby doll-you will know me

Vacation read 🌺💫. Have heard only high praise, so I'm so excited!! #both
Currently trying to start reading The Glorious Heresies but can't really seem to get into it. The writing and format is clunky for me and the narrative looks pretty disconnected. Hmm maybe it's because I'm in the middle of mini reading slump. Oh well, taking a break and listening to my favorite podcast ever "All the Books" by @Liberty and @rebeccaschinsky Raise your hand if you're a big fan too ✋?
As I got informed by fellow Litsyans #NationalComingOutDay! I've got a visual list of books to put on your TBR for today because, let's spread the awareness about these experiences! #lgbtqia
Wasn't a wowed as historical fiction for me.
Before this, I didn't know about the existence of "The Zoo" in Auschwitz. This was a separate place where twins and triplets were taken to be put under experimentation by Dr.Mengele.
One of the reasons why I didn't feel that emotionally connected was because of the tone. It was changing between naïveté and wise ass with the characters, which made me feel like the tone was too disconnected.
I was completely absorbed in the story of Mitza's life, which I found to be absolutely fascinating. You know what, I personally love reading books about forgotten histories with female protagonists. This book was absolutely an excellent example and accomplishment of what it means to take a closer look at the women enabling the "genius famous" men to do their work. An engaging read, would highly recommend!
Just reading a book about my new obsession: the brain of a fine Saturday morning.
