I've yet to complete either of my #bookspin picks for June, and my husband and I just started an 1100 page opus for our book club, but #BookSpinBingo sounds like WAY TOO MUCH FUN to pass up. You've done it again, Sarah! @TheAromaofBooks #LetsDoThis 😎

TheAromaofBooks The irresistible challenge! 😂 4y

Somehow I managed to knock 5 titles off my TBR this month, including the tagged book. (Six if you count the one I decided not to read after all!) Hooray for #bookspinbonanza!!!! 🎉📚❤️

I already have four titles on the go for June, but I'm excited to see which of these I'll be adding to that list. Thanks, as always to Sarah @TheAromaofBooks for hosting the ONLY TBR takedown that has ever worked for me ... ever! 😆😆#bookspin

May #triplespin complete!!!! 🌞 The “wheel“ was kind to me this month, putting a couple of quick reads up front, the tagged title included. // Left me feeling: like it's time to circle back around to “Dune: Messiah“. #bookspinbonanza @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Great progress!!! 5y

April #triplespin complete! May not count for #bookspinbonanza, but I'm feeling pretty proud just the same! 🤓 This installment feels like it read more quickly than the last one, and I enjoyed the many varied characters it introduced. (Book 5 of 14). Left me feeling: pleased, accomplished and content.

Litsy has started cropping my images in a manner I find hella frustrating, so I'm just going to stick with words for the time being. 😶

May #doublespin COMPLETE!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Yes I may have skimmed most of the book lists, but that is not meant to reflect poorly on the authors' selections. I'm still learning how to balance reading for work with reading for myself, and both of my corresponding TBRs are already stacked to the point of overwhelm. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

TReads I marked a number of passages that I felt would be helpful at work, but given that we already have a copy in our collection, I will probably forego purchasing one for myself. Left me feeling: Mostly reassured, but also a tad annoyed and a little overwhelmed. #bookspinbonanza (edited) 5y

Most readathons conflict with my work schedule, so I decided that this weekend I would hold my own #12in24. I didn't quite make it to 12 hours, but I did finish my May #bookspin ("Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways") and made it almost half way though my #doublespin! 293 pages, plus 2 read alouds = one happy reader! ☺️?☺️?#bookspinbonanza

Given that I only recently started my April #triplespin, it's unlikely that May will be a #bookspinbonanza for me, but I'm still super excited to play!!!! Thanks as always to Sarah @TheAromaofBooks for hosting!!! Stay safe everyone, and happy reading! ☺️📚🎉

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Most of us are just seeing how far we can get, so even two or three books is still a great goal! 5y

I wound up listening to a heavily abridged audiobook version of this book, and while I managed to find a couple of gems, like this one, I think I may have come to it too late in my reading life.

Left me feeling: uncertain, unsettled and a tad disappointed

Buechersuechtling It‘s quite strong stuff being ascribed to be primitive just because I like to come as I am instead of spending hours on make up or on finding glasses that go with the colour of my nails. 5y
TReads @Buechersuechtling Agreed! 👍 As someone who was shamed out of practicing what are considered to be traditionally feminine practices of adornment, it was the positive reinforcement of those practices that resonated with me in this quote. #edited ☺️ (edited) 5y

The last couple of Thursdays seem to have vanished without a trace, so I'm going to break the rules a little and answer this tag today, since @JoScho was kind enough to invite me to play. ☺️?☺️ Thanks, lovely!

2. Justin Timberlake. "Mirrors" never fails me. ❤️
3. Dark chocolate mint Aero. One square at a time.

ImperfectCJ This book has been on my list for several years now... I should add it to May's #bookspin list! 5y
TReads @ImperfectCJ I downloaded an audio copy from the library, and it wasn't until I finished it that I realized it was *heavily* abridged. 😶 Although there were a couple of gems in what I heard, I'm not sure I loved it enough to invest in the full 500+ page tome. I'd love to hear what you think if you do eventually pick it up!!! 5y

Series abound for my April #bookspin!!! The tagged book is a comic book retelling of "Alice in Wonderland" that I've had for more than a decade. ? The pictured book is the follow-up to my March spin, and my #triplespin is book five in the Wizard of Oz series, "The Road to Oz". It's unlikely I'll finish all three, but it'll be fun to try!!! Stay safe, Littens! ???

Though I feel lucky to be able to work from home, it hasn't left me with any extra reading time, so much of my April #bookspin is a carryover from March ... including my March #doublespin, which I put off because my hold on the tagged book came in on Libby. 🙃 Nevertheless, I was pleased with the number of slots I ended up needing to fill, since I also used the list as a sort of makeshift March TBR. ☺️ Thanks again to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting!

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! Glad to have you back for another round! 5y
TReads @TheAromaofBooks Thanks, Sarah!!! So far it's the only book challenge I've tried that actually works!!! 😊 Can't wait to see what April's spin(s) will be. 5y
TheAromaofBooks I think this challenge really works because it's a list of books everyone is planning to read anyway haha I really enjoy reading challenges, but so often they add books to my list instead of checking off books I already have there! 5y
TReads @TheAromaofBooks That's a great point! ?There's also something about the balance you've created between the structure of a set list and the surprise of the spin that keeps my brain from saying, "Naw, let's ignore all the books you already have and read this shiny new one instead." ☺️?☺️ It's also a tone of fun to participate with such a great group of Littens!!! #bookspin 5y

This. Is. Everything.

I've spent the last year reading the stories in this collection during their corresponding seasons, and this moment meant so much to me, as both a musician and someone who now works with kids herself.

It's definitely a standout scene for me. This and the turnip. 😂😂😂

I agree with Karin @8little_paws' review that there's a notable, and in my opinion, unfortunate, change in tone in the more recent interviews, but that probably says as much about the world of journalism as it does about Bourdain.

February has been *rough*, so I'm super excited to start March off with my first ever Litsy #bookspin!!! (Thanks so much to Sarah @TheAromaofBooks for coming up with such a fun TBR takedown game. 😊🙏😊)

So excited to have been tagged to do this!!! (Thanks so much, Santhi @BookishMe 😊🙏😊)

1. Keeper turned donator. We recently moved to temporary housing for my new job and I donated almost 300 books in the process.

2. Shortest timeframe for a novel (of late): 2 days. Longest ... 2 years.

3. Tagged. Expected something extolling the beauty of winter; this seemed more concerned with convincing me it no longer exists. A tough sell in -30C weather.
