How to Read a Book | Mortimer Jerome Adler, Charles Lincoln Van Doren

The art of reading, in short includes all the same skills that are involved in the art of unaided discovery: keenness of observation readily available memory, range of imagination, and of course an intellect trained in analysis and reflection. The reason for this is that reading in this sense is discovery, too.
This is year is one of the hardest and most difficult one, I am glad I have books to help me escape the painful reality we are living

Olive, olive I didn't think I was going to like this book so much because it was about older, older people. I like all they characters, feel sad and pity some. Each story was different but all were connected.

I give a solid 3 stars. It was a light and fun read over I think he overuse the F word in the first two chapters. I was expecting more for some reason😶 it did have a few great points.

Song of Solomon | Toni Morrison

" o sugarman done fly away
Sugarman done gone
Sugarman cut across the sky
Sugarman gone home.

O sugarman done fly
O sugarman done gone."

I always brace myself before reading any of her book, I'm glad it was not dark like beloved. This is my favorite Morrison novel thus far. The way she balance between humours and depth. Her characters has life, voice, and distinct personality.

This was great read for me. Show how your life can change in a split second. When something happens how it not only affects you but people around you and your relationship with them.

This is not for any sane person. Never in my life have I read a book that made me feel engrossed, uncomfortable. I couldn't pass, overlook the pedophilia in it. I love a good love story but not at the expense of kids. I just can't understand how people can find it enjoyable . Please let children be children stop sexualizing them. Oooh the double standard of it all. I bet you if it was written by a man this book would have never seen the light.

CocaNicola Agreed! I just got about halfway in and I‘m going to have to abandon. Can‘t get down with pedophilia! 5y
Romy819 I put it down twice. I went to the author Instagram just to who she is, what people think 🤔🤦🏽‍♀️,most of them think it's a beautiful love story smh 5y

I like this book. I like how It focuses on domestic violence, sexual assault and drug abuse. But there was no depth to the characters. The book is a hard I don't know how to rate. There were parts in it i like and there were parts I thought it was unnecessary.

This book about finding courage and hope when you think you have none. I didn't really like because it was too predictable. It was lighthearted and engaging.
