I finished my 37th/ final book of 2021 today! This is for those looking to try something new, do something fun, or to just step out of their comfort zone. This was the vision of Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas who is one of the heroines amongst the 9/11 United 93 plane crash. She was a former Girl Scout and this book follows a method for grown-up women where you can earn badges for the 60 tasks. Her sisters helped to make this book a reality.

This is the most beautifully written poetry book I have ever read. It is a super fast read and provides wonderful insight and messages on hope, healing, and strength. There is hope and light in every single season. Every page is very poetic and inspirational to living a life of purpose filled with light, love, and hope.

The Big Book of Less: Finding Joy in Living Lighter | Astrid Van Der Hulst, Irene Smit, Editors of Flow magazine
post image

This is a wonderful book on how having less can be freeing and can help us let go. The chapters focus on living with less stuff, less information, less remembering, having less control, less doing, less living large, and having less judgment on ourselves. It truly is a wonderful minimalistic read and offers insight on the beauty of ‘less is more‘.

Today I finished my 30th book of 2021 which we‘re also reading in book club! I‘ve read a lot of self-help books and this is definitely the deepest one I‘ve read. It is very well written as he gives insight on what he learned from his time being a monk. He is no longer a monk but a lot of what he learned still applies to his daily life and he provides wonderful steps and advice on how we can live a more meaningful life by changing the way we think!

I absolutely loved this book! Chicken Soup for the Soul books are always great feel good books, but this book especially emphasized it as it‘s so important to take time out of our day for self-care and rest. We need to find balance in our lives as we can‘t be of service to others if we don‘t take care of ourself first. It includes 101 inspiring stories of how others practice self-care in their lives. #SelfCare #MeTime #ChickenSoupForTheSoul

Gift from the Sea | Anne Morrow Lindbergh
post image

“Solitude, says the moon shell. Every person, especially every woman, should be alone sometime during the year, some part of each week, and each day.” Anne Morrow Lindbergh has a wonderful way with words as she beautifully writes meditations of how a woman‘s stages of life relates to a different shell. It‘s a quick read and a great book to take on a vacation. Some of it seems unrelatable as a young woman, but it is so beautifully written.

If you loved Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert then I highly recommend this read. It is by no means a sequel or summary of the book, but rather a compilation of many short stories written by various authors. It is very similar to a Chicken Soup for the Soul format, as all the short stories are written by real people who were inspired by different things from the novel. This is for anyone seeking inspiration and change from the beloved novel.

I absolutely loved this book and the way it was written. I love how it‘s divided into 3 books-Eat (Italy), Pray (India), and Love (Indonesia). I love how it‘s separated into 108 short stories incorporating the traditional japa mala which consists of 108 beads, rather than separating them into lengthy chapters. Italy is by far my fave book, but I enjoyed her meditation journey in India and her love story with Felipe in Bali. #eatpraylove

“There‘s no such thing as perfection in gymnastics. You do your best, but anything can happen-which is why you have to learn to forgive yourself and quickly move on. Curiously, my Olympic dream had never been about winning-it was about going. It was about proudly wearing my country‘s colors on my chest and being excellent in the moments when it counted. It was about precision, confidence, and teamwork. And it was about hope.” -Simone Biles

Yoga is so much more than mastering the physical practice. It is also a mental/spiritual practice of letting go and learning more about yourself. This book explores the spiritual practice of the 8 limbs of yoga. It dives into yoga‘s ethical practice and each limb is a guideline of living/incorporating yoga into everything you do off your mat. It‘s the basic philosophy and study of applying yogic principles to becoming the best version of yourself.

I absolutely loved this book. Included is a summary of some of the top episodes from every season. This is my 2nd time through watching the series during this pandemic. It‘s great to watch the show and then read the summary of the specific episode afterwards. I just finished the 10th season today and it‘s great for Friends fanatics like myself to better understanding episodes. It is a must for any Friends fan! #friends #friendstv #centralperk

Summer at Tiffany | Marjorie Hart
post image

I loved this book and couldn‘t put it down. It‘s a real life memoir about a young woman named Marjorie and her BFF Marty and the Summer they left Iowa to work at Tiffany together in New York. It had so much nostalgia and it transported you back in time to the mid 1940s. Every chapter ends w/ letters sent home to Marjorie‘s family. When the girls weren‘t working at Tiffany they were out with friends, bfs, and thinking about their future. #tiffany

Happy Birthday Vanna White! I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Wheel of Fortune has been my favorite go to game show during this pandemic. You don‘t get to hear a lot from her so learning about her early life and early days on Wheel of Fortune was very interesting. I think a sequel or follow up biography would be nice since this was written more than 30 years ago. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. #vannawhite #wheeloffortune #vannaspeaks

I‘ve enjoyed every Jen Sincero book I‘ve read but I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a kickass year in 2021. It focuses on setting goals and also implements a 21 day process to achieving that goal through establishing healthy, achievable habits. It definitely is a great read for setting and creating new and healthy habits for yourself year round. #badasshabits #jensincero

Yesterday I finished my 50th book of 2020! All 101 questions were very insightful questions to consider. What resonated with me the most was: “#7. Am I seeing the other side of people‘s IG photos (the side they‘re not exactly posting)?” I could relate to this bc it emphasizes how people only post the better half of their life on social-not the hardships they‘re enduring or the low lights-it‘s important not to believe everything you see on social.

What is...the best biography I‘ve read all year! The late and legendary Alex Trebek‘s biography is like no other biography I‘ve read before. He was truly the most kind, humble, and selfless celebrity. His biography focuses on lessons he‘s learned, family, the charity work he‘s contributed to, his career on Jeopardy, and the contestants who have touched him on the show. I wish more people strived to be as humble and as kind as Trebek was! #jeopardy

I really enjoyed this book because it focused on a lot of important key points to living your best, glorious life. It is kind of like a guide book broken down into 5 different sections regarding who you are, what you need, what you want, what you believe and how you connect. I think every person will be able to resonate with at least one section or more. I highly recommend to anyone looking for more self improvement. #jenhatmaker #fiercefreefire

It includes many places I didn‘t know about that will now be added to my Cleveland bucket list!

The author takes us on her travels vicariously through her photos to over 50 destinations. I enjoyed seeing the incredible destinations but I feel that most readers will not be able to connect with this author‘s extravagant lifestyle as few people have the time/money to travel like her so at times it felt more like Insta Brag than Insta Travel. I do find Aggie‘s passion for traveling amazing and it‘s incredible how many countries she‘s been to.

I was so hoping to love this book as I admire Carrie Underwood as a person and a celebrity but I felt that it overemphasized fitness and healthy eating too much. This is a must read if you love PS, I Love You. I love that it is written from Holly‘s perspective as you are given flashbacks of her and Gerry‘s relationship through her thoughts. I like that her friends/family are still in her life and that she has a boyfriend. I think The PS, I Love You Club has a very positive message and I think it‘s healing for Holly. This sequel is definitely more of a tear jerker than PS, I Love You but still just as good.

Happy International Women's Day 2020! I finished my 9th book of the year which is about the woman who started the brand herself, Lilly Pulitzer. Overall I enjoyed learning the history of Lilly's life and how her brand got started. Their was a lot of irrelevant history that had nothing to do with her or her brand. It's great though if you enjoy a lot of history as their is a lot of references to the history of Palm Beach and its wealthy socialites.

Today I finished my 5th book of 2020, P.S. I Love You. After I visited the bridge in Wicklow I knew right away I wanted to read the book. I saw the book at a cute little bookstore in Killarney and started reading it in Ireland. I‘m happy to say that after nearly 500 pages and 50+ chapters, I read it and now it is one of my favorite fictional books. Can‘t wait to read the sequel and rewatch the movie next!🇨🇮❤️☘️
