I absolutely loved this book! I love the storyline, the idea behind it, the characters, the tone... I just love all of it! I am confident that this is going to be a bestseller and a movie someday just like Pay it Forward. Catherine Ryan Hyde is such a talented author who develops these amazing ideas and carries them out through her characters in such a talented way, and she shows this yet again in Heaven Adjacent. Highly recommended, a must-read.

What a beautifully written historical novel based on a true story! An intriguing storyline, captivating characters, emotional nostalgia, and sweet romance enveloped me from the start and pulled me in. Ford created his characters in such a talented way that it was easy to feel the emotion and yearn to read on. This is definitely a story that will stay with me and I highly recommend it.
This novel captured me and held me hostage until I finished reading it at 1:30 AM. The characters, the animals, and, most importantly, the multiple storylines, were so incredibly and perfectly well-written and brought me right into their lives. I was so emotional reading this and have a feeling I will continue to be for quite some time.
I was captivated by the multiple storylines and the colorful characters, and was definitely pulled in to see what would happen next. It was an easy read, well-written, and touched upon many different genres to appeal a variety of audiences. I prefer realistic novels, and though parts were not what I would consider to be realistic, they were written in a way that I was still highly engaged and intrigued. If anything, they made the story better!
Oh, how I adore Louisa Clark and reading about her journeys! Jojo Moyes was able to capture a personality that is so vivid and strong that it is easy to get wrapped into Louisa‘s sagas and feel her emotions right along with her. She is intelligent and brave, warm-hearted and loving, and incredibly quirky and funny. I was saddened to hear that this is the last of the novels including Louisa. I am going to truly miss following her.
I prefer genres about family, sensitive topics, and storylines that provoke personal thought and reflection, and this fit into each of these categories. The characters were constructed and presented in such a talented way and I felt their sadness, their defeat, their courage, their hope, and their love. Though there were multiple storylines occurring, they were entwined easily and seamlessly. This was an easy and enjoyable read!
Right from the beginning, I realized this book was very different than most books I read. The silliness, quirky humor and hilarity were spot on,
and I enjoyed the tone, the characters, the storylines, and the family relationships and intricacies. I do feel that it was missing something, but I‘m not sure what. Maybe it is more in line with a TV series than a complete novel? A promise of more to come, rather than having a solid ending?
Scottoline has again succeeded in writing another novel that gripped me, pulled me in, and captivated me throughout the night until I finished it. I could not stop reading, I was hungry for more, and couldn‘t wait to see what would happen next and how it would end.
I loved the twists and turns, especially at the end, but I felt the ending was rushed and was more violent than I felt was necessary.
I was pulled into the story early on and was eager to continue reading to see what would happen next. I think this is because I was drawn towards some of the characters than I was to the intended plot and storyline and trying to figure out what what would happen next. To me, there were too many twists and turns, and many that were unnecessary and distracting. I enjoyed the writing style, the character development, and the psychological topics.
Olivia is a young, strong, and surprisingly mature, woman who is in a constant state of search. Though many of her decisions are wrong, or at least not the best ones, she approaches them with determination and obligation. The writing and the novel were easy to read and I especially felt drawn to the descriptions of her time in India, and learning about the culture and the ashram.
As much as I loathe reading these words as the beginning of anyone‘s review, I am going to say them: I loved this book! From the very first page to the last, I read avidly, soaking up every word, eager to continue. I fell in love with each and every character, enthralled by their quirkiness, and captivated by their actions. The dry humor and witty prose were perfect, and made this such a delectable read. Highly recommended!
This was an entertaining and fun read surrounding social class and the allure and mishaps that accompany each level. From love affairs to breakups, everlasting friendships to teenage bullying, and acceptance to rejection; the reader experiences a myriad of life milestones through the lives of the colorful and quirky characters.
It reminded me of a Hallmark movie. The characters felt familiar and I could imagine curling up on the couch to chat with them with them, or taking a stroll on the beach with them. I felt sadness and loss with them, as well as excitement and contentment. The writing was easy and I especially loved reading about the turtles - the blurbs at the beginning of each chapter were perfect additions!
This is not the usual genre that I read, but I truly did enjoy it. It was captivating and gripping, and though there was so much going on, it was easy to read and follow. I learned so much and developed an appreciation for the different cultures, and was able to see things from a very different viewpoint than I am used to. It is a story about politics and love, turmoil and suspense. I definitely can see this becoming a movie.
A must-read for all! I had no idea that it was a story about THE Kennedys and was floored when it finally dawned on me. I then, of course, was even more intrigued and could not stop reading! It flows like a story of fiction, though it is full of facts and history. Lots of famous name-dropping with true and fictional details that left me wondering which parts were embellished. This should be made into a movie!
I got sucked in to this book right at page one and was enthralled throughout the entire book. The background of the story is tragic and heart-breaking, yet the tone is positive and upbeat. It is about a young woman who shows her immense strength, determination, and positivity during the recovery after a life-altering accident, but most importantly, she show how strong she is, even during her lowest points. #WalkAwayGirlfriend #HowToWalkAwayBook
Ah, family! What is more special and important and all-encompassing? I love reading about families and Nancy Thayer (once again) has done an outstanding job at creating a family that pulls you in right from the beginning and has you begging to read more about them. The characters are so engaging and have such realistic issues and events, good and bad, that you feel connected to them and can relate. Highly recommended!
