pickWOW!! Amy is a frustrated, angry mother who has a rocky, abusive relationship with her 5 year old daughter. Sarah sees them struggling and wants to give Emma a better life. I hated Amy but I really did understand how she felt and I totally understood Sarah's desire to give a child everything she never had. A wonderful book that had me anxious and morally conflicted!

I didn't think much about reading this book and I think I got it from one of those Prime Reads offers. I was looking around on my Kindle for something to read and I literally don't want to put this down!!!
pickEver watch a movie that is so tense it makes you uncomfortable? That is this book. I don‘t like movies like that, but the advantage of a stressful book is that you can close it & walk away. As long as the suspense doesn‘t grab you...& this book is immensely suspenseful. Emma‘s mother is cruel. Sarah notices, & then decides to do something about it. pickFrey explores what exactly does it mean to be a mother. Do you have to give birth to a child to be a mother, and just because you have a child, does it actually make you a mother? Besides the theme of motherhood, love and sacrifice are also topics whose undercurrents are felt throughout the story. There is such depth to this subject matter, and this book is a perfect book club choice because of it.

This isn‘t the type of book I‘d normally pick up, but I‘m happy I did especially after realizing Frey is a local Nashville author. Solid debut fiction.
This is my TBR shelf.... But I keep seeing more books I'm dying to buy.... Maybe I should hide my debit card....
pickThis is a fast- paced read, and I loved so many aspects of the book. However, the ending seemed completely unrealistic and too rushed. I needed a bit more explanation to answer a few burning questions, but overall the book kept me enthralled. It's a hard moral dilemma knowing that a girl should be with her family, but does that still apply when they are abusive and neglectful??
pickThis is another thriller that took off fast and kept flying till the end. A woman sees a little girl being abused by her mother, so she makes the decision to get the little girl to leave with her. From there they are on the run from law enforcement. The ending of this book surprised me. I really liked it!
