It started out slow, but after a few hundred pages, I couldn't put it down! I can't wait for the next installment!
Just finished this book and I LOVED IT! Brilliant biography of a brilliant woman.
Really enjoyed this book! It was the perfect pre-Halloween read.
Just picked up this beautiful edition! I need to reread it soon.
What I'm currently reading for #BannedBooksWeek.
I feel like everyone loves this book, but I couldn't really connect with it. It was cute, but Fangirl was so much better!
Starting my first read for Banned Books Week before I go to sleep. How beautiful is this book?! #bannedbooksweek #diversebannedbooks
There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more I am dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.
Mind-blowing and terrifying. It's like a modern 1984. It's rare that I hate a main character, and still like the book, but the message is just so relevant.
I was going to post a quote, but I couldn't choose! So many good ones. I'm already starting to love this book.
FINALLY read Fangirl, and I loved it! Such a cute story, and I couldn't get enough of the fact that the MC is a writer. Can't wait to read more Rowell!
This book was so much more than I was expecting! It was like The Princess Bride, Monty Python, Shakespeare, Tangled, and a touch of Game of Thrones all mashed together. And it worked so well! Love it!
One of my favorite fantasy books! Loved it and the sequel, A Gathering of Shadows, and I CAN'T WAIT for the third installment, A Conjuring of Light. V. E Schwab can do no wrong. SO GOOD!
It wasn't bad, per se, but reading this book felt like I was reading a mashup of every other YA dystopian novel I've ever read. It was so cheesy and predicable. Which part of me enjoyed, but mostly, my feelings about this book can be summed up in one word: meh.
About to start rereading one of my favorite books of last year! It's so dark and wonderful! I'm really excited about the sequel, Red Queen, which comes out next month.
Currently rereading A Game of Thrones. I keep forgetting how good it is!
I realized then that I didn't understand anything. I read all the books I could.
Currently reading Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi for the Our Shared Sheld Book club and the Tome Topple readathon. Really enjoying it so far!
So, so good! This book is definitely a new favorite! I already want to read it again.
Currently reading an ARC of The Girls by Emma Cline.
Power is okay, and stupidity is usually harmless. Power and stupidity together are dangerous.
Started reading The Name of the Wind as part of the Tome Topple Readathon, and I'm loving it so far!
I was not expecting much from this book, so I was pleasantly surprised! It's an excellent thriller with a very unusual protagonist and an interesting plot. Not my typical read, but I liked it!
I could not for the life of me get into this book. It's a prequel to one of my favorite classics - Jane Eyre - so I was hoping to enjoy it, but it just wasn't my thing.
My birthday present to myself: The View From the Cheap Seats by Neil Gaiman (which came out on my birthday, so I had to get it, obviously) and the Penguin Drop Caps edition of Lord of the Flies. Love!
Nothing is so necessary for a young man as the company of intelligent women.
It does good to no woman to be flattered [by a man] who does not intend to marry her; and it is madness in all women to let a secret love kindle within them, which, if unreturned and unknown, must devour the life that feeds it.
Completely depressing but utterly amazing. Loved it!
Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it.
