KA‘s first rom-com, and it‘s great! Daphne‘s a rugged outdoorswoman trying to get her novel published, and Chris becomes the face of her pseudonym. What could go wrong? I loved it.

Good read. The author uses her great-great-great aunts writings from her trek to the Yukon to stake their claim in gold. Dual timeline, the 1898 timeline and the history of striking gold was the majority of this book. Money creates problems. The Han tribe that lived on the Yukon River and the gold rushers that took their chances all either triumphed or suffered from the gold found in that region. Alice‘s story is both brave and cunning.
Last weekend, our area got 30cm of snow, and it put me in the mood to read the next book in remote and wintry Rockton. It's definitely more fun reading about snow than shovelling it! This was a good page-turning mystery/thriller.

Casey and Eric have left the toxicity of Rockton behind. Unfortunately their dreams for Haven‘s Rock aren‘t starting off as planned. Unexpected neighbors, mining exploration, missing crew members, and an accelerated schedule for their new residents pile on the pressure. This was a good spin off from the Rockton novels.
The love between Casey and Eric is definitely a #LastingLove They support each other, tell each other their hopes and fears and love each other for exactly who they are 👩🏻❤️💋👨🏼

Really liked this romance book! Daphne is a write who submits her book under a male name. It gets picked up and now she has to hire someone to be Zane. Mostly set in Canada but they do go on a book tour through the US.
Another detective series I started but this one I won't continue. An interesting concept (it follows homicide detective Casey Duncan in the hidden Rockton, a small, off-the-grid town in the wilderness of the Canadian Yukon where people go when they wish to disappear) but I didn't care much for the characters (as compared to those in For Reasons Unknown that I reviewed yesterday).
And of course there are only so many thriller series I can handle!

I read this one via library ebook & put it on my hold list based on the author who I love for her Rockton & Haven‘s Rock series. This is Armstrong‘s first foray into romance & it is an overall good rom-com about an author who comes up with a male non de plume to get her first novel published & has to hire someone to play him for publicity & gets in deep when the book takes off. Rather than the arrogant actor ⬇️
A new week, another trip to Hilo.
Started this library e-book. Romance is a departure for Kelley Armstrong so we‘ll see, but it‘s cute so far.
