This one deserves all of your love, especially if you‘re into awesome Canadian literature. This gorgeously written, compulsively readable family saga, focussing around the disappearance of two women from a working class town, is layered with secrets, masterfully revealed.

This is not your typical romance book, and I‘m not sure how I feel about the ending. That said, it‘s a well written story with an interesting premise. I also like how the chapters go back in time to Daphne‘s previous relationships, adding color to the present day storyline.
I still liked her first book more but this one kept my mind off things for a few days. Most of the characters were a bit unlikable. I do like that Audrain is not afraid to highlight the difficult parts of raising kids. The hard part of being a mom but wanting to have a successful career. How parents sometimes don‘t know how to navigate a relationship with their child when their child is not what they expected. The difficulties of marriage, feeling

This is a darling book set in post WWII Washington and laced with girly friendships that could knock the socks right off of you with ferocity. Touch of murder, some spies and a Pilsbury Bake-Off.
