I have owned this book two years- finally it fit my mood yesterday. Really enjoying the medical aspects(1899), set NYC, Brooklyn. Enjoying a cool evening.

This book is historical fiction, but it could be based on true story. This book had me from beginning till the end. The story of one woman‘s journey through love, sacrifice, racism, family, traditional values and survival gives you everything you need in a good summer book. #korea #japan #POC #strongfemale #turnofthecentury #war

Cathythoughts It was a very good book 👍🏻♥️ 5y
Smrloomis I really loved this book (with the exception of one minor character‘s story). 5y

Mehso-so

Another violent and disturbing one, for sure. Molly gets smarter and smarter, more and more competent - and the situations get scarier, and Daniel gets more controlling ... though he finally saw a bit of reason with this one. I figured out the bad guy, his motivation, and a little more about the issue early on, which makes me give it 3.5 ⭐️. Not a pick but not a so-so. Ugh, Litsy needs a better rating system!

Well, if you‘ve read one mystery when you should‘ve been doing something else, why not two, when both come in on #Libby? AMIRITE? 😂 Oh, Molly! Another one that starts off very scary and hard. Welp. #mystery 🕵️‍♀️🇮🇪🇺🇸

It was a true tale of the human spirit and the ability to grow and develop, even in the most adverse conditions. I felt like I related to this book on a very personal level, and would not recommend it for somebody who doesn't appreciated subtlety or who has never experienced a traumatic event such as loss or poverty. Very well written!! #comingofage #atreegrowsinbrooklyn #bettysmith #turnofthecentury #summerreading #bettysmith #americanclassic
