Bklover Love the quote (1)❤️! 6y
LectricSheep That‘s an awesome quote for #1. I‘m copying that down. 😁 6y
Posh_Salad @Bklover and @LectricSheep - I think the quote is from a story or essay in the tagged book, but I‘m not sure. I read it in college and it shaped my life. 6y

SilversReviews Thanks for playing. Great you don't plan. I like that even though I am a planner. 😊 6y

1. I don't really believe in guilty pleasures, at least not with books, but I've often seen Georgette Heyer referred to like this. I love her fun stories!
2. Serendipity, Ramen Girl, The Scarlet Pimpernel ??
3. I'm a terrible snacker so basically everything bad that I can't resist between meals ??

@JenlovesJT47 did you know its titbit in the UK? I wonder if pronunciation changed it or the "rudeness" of the original ?

JenlovesJT47 Oh really? That‘s so funny! 7y
saresmoore I just read “tit bit” in a book and it made me giggle! My rather crass grandfather always used to say it was “a tit bit nipply” out when the weather turned cold. 7y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore ?? it looks like tit/tid comes from a dialect word "tid" meaning meaning tender but the titbit spelling is older. Weird ? 7y
saresmoore That is weird! Etymology is an unreliable, human-confused science. Makes me think of chicken tenders, though! 🙃 7y

Maurice | E M Forster

1️⃣ I liked Maurice, actually. I really did. Also Remains of the Day.
2️⃣ Blargh. I find them generally to be ugly.
3️⃣ None of the books I like are "adaptable". I mean, look what was done to Cloud Atlas! There is talk of adapting Those Who Walk Away From Omelas, and I shudder.
4️⃣ Hi @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ?
@JenlovesJT47 #tuesdaytidbit

Lostinagoodbook I never did read Maurice but I loved Howard‘s End. 😊 7y
tournevis @Lostinagoodbook Maurice is good. A heartbreaking love story. 7y

“Never judge a book by its cover”
My son (8) immediately saw two entwined hands on this cover. I hadn‘t seen that. I always examine a cover after reading a book and see so much more in it than at first glance. This might be why I despise movie covers so much! How closely do you examine covers?
#tuesdaytidbit

LMJenkins I sometimes have a realization after I take a closer look too. I saw an article recently about a young woman who designs book covers and she had a lot of very popular, recent, beautiful cover designs. 7y
