Men Explain Things to Me | Rebecca Solnit
post image
Bailedbailed

I‘ve been looking forward to this for so long - it wasn‘t what I expected, & about 1/2 through I couldn‘t do it any more. This is not a series of stories about men explaining things; really some parts are only marginally related to the premise laid out in the 1st part of the book. Having read Virginia Woolf extensively I was bored with the rhetorical analysis/literary criticism in ch 6 that I couldn‘t continue. #LitsyAtoZ #unpopularopinion #tbr20

I thought this was okay. It was short. I‘m not a huge anti-hero fan, but this is good for that if you‘re into t. The writing got tighter and it‘s obvious the author finds himself amusing. The second for my newest round of #tbr20

I really loved this book. I loved the development of the main character, and love the epic quality of the old gods versus the new. Definitely a reminder why I love fantasy. Oh and I‘m totally counting this week toward my #LitsyAtoZ for 2018 ☺️ #fightme

Pamwurtzler You go, girl! I started early for my #LitsyAtoZ for 2017! 7y

No clue if you can read it, but here‘s my plan for the #readingatoz challenge! All I own except for X - that one was hard! - so I am also killing off some of my #TBR20 books too! #multitasking#litsyAtoZ

#Bookhaul while in Worcester from a decent used book store - the top two my sis picked out and the rest are for me. I picked up the Spanish version of THUG because why not? This was $70 - not too bad. Broke the hell@out of my #tbr20 so guess I will be restarting in the new year 😬

PerksOfBeingABookworm So many great books! 7y

I‘s still working through my #TBR20 challenge for myself - which is hard during the holiday season! I also haven‘t been counting books I got off hold at the library unless they were legitimately already on my TBR - so most of my@romance hasn‘t counted :)

This book was between pick and so-so. It was a little too “real” in a rather mundane way. I didn‘t connect with any characters. 🤷‍♀️ but the plot was interesting and the writer can write.

Overall this book was fun and compulsively readable! Andy Weir‘s signature humor is on display. Because the narrator was a bit younger, I️ found the tone a bit young as well. More thoughts on my blog, as well as (holiday season!) for whom I️ would buy or recommend this book ☺️🌔 (picture of the delicious poutine I️ has the other day)(#TBR20)

I really like the Spindle Cove series! Misfits and rejects all, though the “how did no one see how beautiful she was under all those glasses and self loathing?!” trip gets old. Only 18 more books to not-buy before I can purchase something again 🙄 #tbr20
