so-soThis book has a fascinating world & interesting characters, but jumped around way too much. The writing was good in some places and just meh in others.
A blacksmith‘s daughter is pulled into a world of intrigue and danger as the goblins prepare for war, the Fae court spins slowly and poisons the world, all species fall into a trap that is only the opening step for another big trap that is the first step in a complex plot.
2/5 for the writing

Next in my catchup of this game is the 1st book in Hamilton‘s Merry Gentry series. A magical realism/paranormal romance series, it‘s set in a world where the Fae are real and living among us. The Unseelie Court live in an underhill on the border of Illinois & Missouri. After fleeing the court in fear for her life, Princess Meredith returns to find a husband & become heir. What can I say, I‘m a sucker for the Fae🧚🏼♂️
My first check-in for the #MarvellousMay #readathon & I‘m doing much better than expected! I got about halfway through The Murder Rule before a combo of headache,eye strain & fatigue forced me to stop, so I pulled out my now “vintage” iPod & started the tagged book, which is a total comfort reread.
