Along a Long Road by Frank Viva, 2011. This book is about a play on words. The author uses words and phrases that sound the same to encourage reflection. The book includes black backgrounds that allow the main man to stand out. The book is easy to follow and great for children to read when first learning.
Along a Long Road by Frank Viva 2011 is a book about play on words! The author uses words and phrases in the book that sound the same to add to the comedy of the story. The use of black boxes in the story really highlights the color and makes the main character stand out!
Such a fun book for kids to show a journey! Loved the play on words. You could really teach about the differences such as a round and around! Kids would love it!
This book would be great for teaching about words and phrases that sound the same but have different meanings. For example, around and a round.

Crossings is an eye-opening and incredibly thorough look at the way the human-created roads are affecting everything from deer populations and monarch butterfly migration in North America, to kangaroo roadkill and orphaned wallabies in New Zealand. Goldfarb lays out ways humans are correcting our mistakes—building land bridges for crossings and planting milkweed for butterflies. Is it enough? Can we do more?
I loved this book!!

I am working on one more non fiction read to wrap up the month.
