This is a fine novel and a quick read. King is a stalwart of a group of writers who are bringing the indigenous way of seeing the world into focus. He definitely knows how to tell a good story, yet he is old school when compared to the rawer styles of writers like Robinson, Dimaline, or Vermette.

Todays book store math: went in to pick up two books. Came out with five, which I can‘t show you because most are presents. I was only supposed to come out with one for me (the Brooks‘ is my next work book club selection), but I decided the tagged book seller recommendation had to be mine, not a gift. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Happy Saturday to me 🎉🎉
