My not very ambitious #DecemberTBR .... we‘ll see how I get on! (I never have much reading time in December- work is bonkers!)
L to R, Top to bottom...
- The first Enola Holmes middle grade, as the movie was adorable, and it‘s my #bookspin
- Next 2 will complete my #pop2020 with an AI and an anthology
- a gift from my lovely friend @squirrelbrain
- Some festive Hercule for #AuthoraMonth
- My final book for December for #readwithMrBook
-
What a joyous, busy, messy novel... and I loved it...
These are interconnected stories, populated mostly by Black British women..... each voice was unique, each story had something to say.... about family, identity, race, love, creativity, expectations and disappointments.
I loved the structure and style, giving the writing vibrancy and rhythm. This book made me think, made me laugh, made me feel, and what more can I ask for than that.

Making good progress with 28/40 so far for my Pop Sugar Reading Challenge this year.....
How‘s everyone else doing? 😊💕📚
#bookreport & #weeklyforecast combined this week.... @Cinfhen
- LOVED Lolita on audio! Jeremy Irons is perfect as Humbert Humbert. The writing was spectacular and he‘s the epitome of unreliable narrators (which I love)
- All about Sarah (in translation) was beautifully written and was quite unsettling in a good way.
- just started 800 grapes, and halfway through George which is lovely and very moving...
- Next up a #BOTM that works for #pop2020
@Cinfhen #weeklyforecast
- continue Lolita on audio for #booked2020 and #pop2020 for my banned book
- just started the tagged book, translated from the French. Saw this one posted on Daunt books Instagram feed, and thought it sounded my kind of thing
- Eight Hundred grapes is my final book for #booked2020 #wineorwhine
- George is a middle grade story, I picked for #pop2020
- my week includes 2 #pride picks 🌈
Should be a great week! 💕📚😊👍
#BOTM June pick.... sounds great, works for my #pop2020 #socialmedia prompt and the cover is gorgeous 😍🔥😍🔥😍🔥😍🔥
#Nextup
For this #pop2020 challenge, I‘ve decided to finally read this Pulitzer Prize winning novel that I‘ve been meaning to read forever! Apparently there is a documentary from 2016 about the Luxembourg Foreign Minister, with the same name, that‘s available on Prime. I may just watch the film too....the trailer made it look quirky and interesting 🤷♀️!
What is everyone else reading for this prompt?

Great on audio. Hearing Charly read her poems, written when ages 16-22, was a moving experience. As she struggles with anxiety and depression, being uncomfortable in her body, experiencing heartbreaks and self doubt, it felt familiar. It‘s a long time since I was her age, but I‘m not sure some of us ever lose those feelings completely. I love that she quotes “our lord savior” Britney Spears in her introduction,”I‘m not a girl, not yet a woman”💕
