This book was published in 2009, that's the year I started blogging. Twitter was a very different world back then. You could have silly conversations without people getting uptight and that's what David Pogue did. He initiated various types of conversations and then documented them with this book. In. This. Book. Forever....or until I put it in the recycling.

The Echo Chamber | John Boyne

5 Stars • The Echo Chamber by John Boyne satirically follows the Cleverley family. It delves into miscommunication via social media, public image vs. reality, cancel culture, and identity. George, a has-been novelist; Beverley, a TV star; Elizabeth, an influencer; and Nelson, transgender, navigate fame and personal life, often clashing due to their echo chambers. ⬇️

suvata It mocks the superficiality of digital lives, the quest for fame, and how online echo chambers distort reality. In essence, it's a humorous critique of modern celebrity culture and the isolating effects of social media. 2mo

Every Single Lie | Rachel Vincent

When 16 year old Beckett discovers the body of a newborn baby in her high school locker room it sends shock waves through her small home town. Whose baby? Tongues start to wag and soon Beckett finds herself the victim of a hateful Twitter firestorm. This is a mystery and a novel about friendship, family, and grief. A page turner.

ShyBookOwl Wow 💔 Sounds like a difficult but topical story 2mo

This book deserves all the attention it is getting. Every parent, every educator, and any person who has an adolescent in their life needs to read this book. I wish I could turn back the clock and do things differently with my children and technology, especially my youngest.

Not reading this whole book and I totally disagree with the author‘s “peer contagion” nonsense regarding trans identities… but I have to say this graph is striking. So even though I think Haidt is wrong on other things, maybe we should all go out and spend more time with friends?
