This book has very colorful illustrations! I think the illustrations could draw students into the story more.
This story is about a girl and her family hiking up Hickory Hill. You go with them throughout their journey up the hill. They find different types of trees, animals, and plants. This would be a good book to introduce when talking about the different things we can find in the wilderness.
This is a great story. A young man is hunting rare birds and I think he's stuffing them? Or studying them somehow? He offers a young girl $10, which would be a lot for her and her grandma, asking her for help tracking down a rare white heron. She knows where the bird is, but does she tell him? Do we make a personal sacrifice for the greater good?
Beautiful 'false spring' day in Colorado! Hit the trails with my daughter and the Grand 🥾
It was muddy af for most of the hike and as I was slippin' and slidin' I kept thinking about Women's Diaries of the Westward Journey, and again--I'm amazed anyone completed that journey!!
This was my #doublespin for January! It's a sweet, vintage read. I loved Caroline's spunk 😊
It was also fun to discover an old library card inside! I love finding little treasures like that in old books.
