This book has very colorful illustrations! I think the illustrations could draw students into the story more.
This story is about a girl and her family hiking up Hickory Hill. You go with them throughout their journey up the hill. They find different types of trees, animals, and plants. This would be a good book to introduce when talking about the different things we can find in the wilderness.
Beautiful 'false spring' day in Colorado! Hit the trails with my daughter and the Grand 🥾
It was muddy af for most of the hike and as I was slippin' and slidin' I kept thinking about Women's Diaries of the Westward Journey, and again--I'm amazed anyone completed that journey!!
1. We hiked to the Hollywood Sign on Monday. This is the back view of the sign.
2. New Year's Eve: exploring Carlsbad, New Mexico. New Year's Day: hiking in Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

No much reading yesterday but certainly was a wonderful day. Me, trying to hike in Cayey with not necessarily the best gear. The view was beautiful, the trail fantastic, the group was so supportive and patient with me since they are so in shape and I‘m not🤪☺️After that we ate, not necessarily healthy food, but it was delicious: mofongo, tostones (fried plantain), fried chillo, alcapurrias😋I don‘t know how I can translate alcapurrias.
Taking a break for a bit before heading back to the chairlift. Mom took the photo. Got a little too much sun and forgot the sunscreen on Monday afternoon; reason for the slightly red face. #summervacation
My parents and I went on a “hike” today and my mom took this photo of me. #summervacation
Didn‘t get any reading in today. We went hiking down in this canyon. It was hot. We are all a little spent now. Heat spent. Back to reading tomorrow when I‘m human again. Lol
