Finished this last night. 4/4 for #JoysofJune Readathon @Andrew65 .

Seemed more like a history of architecture on building the World Fair in Chicago between 1891-1893 than a True Crime Book. In fact, I actually enjoyed the parts about building the structures for the World Fair more than I did the True Crime story. Which is strange because I love the True Crime Genre.

'In Chicago at the end of the nineteenth century amid the smoke of industry⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read and the clatter of trains the lived two men, both handsome, both blue-eyed, and both unusually adept at their chosen skills.' So begins this book that will transport you back to the 1890's in Chicago. It's a very interesting story, but as I said I found the architecture history parts more interesting. It's where the Ferris Wheel was first revealed. Shredded Wheat and Cracker Jacks first tasted.⬇️

The only thing I had a problem with was the print in the copy I have. It was small and so my eyes got tired quicker than normal.🤓 I think if you are interested in Architecture, you should read it. As well as, True Crime, you may find that more interesting than I did.

😊 Happy Reading 🙃

This is my starting plan for #MarchMadness, although I am sure as usual I will occasionally veer away from this list. Going freestyle so not setting a target, but would like to read at least 25 books.

But main aim is to get my reading mojo back which has really hit the buffers in the second half of February.

If life throws you lemons… I wish I‘d get lemons! I‘d make lemonade. When everything breaks down, it‘s time for #OffTheShelf2023 At least the book is the right colour. You can‘t go wrong with a Coben ❣️❣️❣️I‘m scared of the day I‘ve run out of his books. Still got a handful left.

Andrew65 An excellent read. 2y

I had this book for awhile and finally read it. I enjoyed it, though to me it was more a history of libraries instead of a true crime book. It didn't spend a whole lot of time on the 1986 fire at LA's Central Library. I still enjoyed it though. First book for February Bingo.

Finally finished this book. Been on my shelf for ages #OffTheShelf2023 This was an OK read, but quite frankly I‘m getting a bit tired of these English young men writing about how much they drink, and trying to make every second sentence funny. We get it, but sometimes less is more. Otherwise entertaining to read about friendly Irish people eager to meet the Fridge Man. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Andrew65 Well done on finishing a book from your self. 👏👏👏 2y

Interesting but at times boring to me. The journey to freedom after being shot down over the Malayan Jungle. Seemed like all they did was walk a lot. Luckily they came in contact with tribes that helped them get back to freedom.

Romance and Mystery makes for a great book. This was the first in 'The Society of Single Ladies' Series. If you like Historical Fiction with romance and mystery, then this book is for you.
