Bailedbailed

Apparently this is the same book as Artful Dodger? Anyway.

Can I accept romance in a cozy mystery? Yes.

Can I tolerate a romance with a cop? Eh.

Can I continue reading a romantic cozy mystery where the cop kisses his prime suspect, WHILE HE IS INVESTIGATING HER? ✨No.✨

BookmarkTavern Did I skip to the end to make sure I was right about whodunnit? Yes. 1w
TheAromaofBooks At least it's off the list!! 1w
julieclair I think I would have bailed on this one, too. #HailTheBail ! 4d

I want to give romance another try.
Okay, romance novels anyway.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good romance books with a FMC that is over 40, (preferably no kids), no love triangle? I‘m not feeling any angsty teen or young adult story. Any subgenre is fine. Oh, and spice is okay!
As this clip says “No! That is too specific!” 🤪

MaleficentBookDragon @Susanita thank you. Stacked! 3w
ChaoticMissAdventures I don't read a lot of romance and I am now realizing I mostly read m/m romance. but I always like books on this bloggers lists https://everyday-reading.com/romance-with-couples-older-than-35/ This is the one I would rec the most if you are okay with a pandemic love story 3w

TiredLibrarian This isn't a traditional romance novel but it has protagonists who are 60+, no triangle, and minimal kids. I loved it and I'm not a big romance fan. 3w
Larkken I remember liking the tagged! I liked that both MCs had careers they cared about, there was a nice holiday atmosphere with the meet cute... There is an adult child, but no caregiving. Hope it helps! 3w
shortsarahrose This mostly fits the bills (the MCs might be under 40? I don‘t remember but they aren‘t angsty 20 something‘s 😆) (edited) 3w
Bette I remember this being fun, both older main characters join a role playing game…she thinks he‘s a teenage boy, he thinks she‘s as old as his grandmother…until they meet. ❤️🤣 3w
MaleficentBookDragon @Bette that does sound sweet. Stacked. Thanks! 3w
Bookzombie This is not the age range, but there is no love triangle and it never felt like teen angst. Just a very steamy, sweet story. Also, not stressful. 2w
MaleficentBookDragon @ChaoticMissAdventures I found Romantic Comedy at the library for $1 today, so score! 2w
MaleficentBookDragon @Bette kindle had this one for $2.99 so I grabbed it. Thanks for the rec. 2w
ChaoticMissAdventures @MaleficentBookDragon yay!! I hope you like it. 2w
MaleficentBookDragon @Bookzombie this sounds cute and I love any book set at a camp or in the woods, though my picks are more slasher than romcom. (edited) 2w

#12booksof2024 November. No surprise here. Archer is just a splendid author! I was a bit late to the Warwick series, but all caught up now! Runner up: MA Hunter‘s The Reunion, also a five star read!

Andrew65 Love this series. 2mo

#WinterGames24 #HolidayBookDragons @LiseWorks Total Pts: 3300

Another fun adventure at Christmas Tree Farms! I really look forward to reading this series every year- last year I did a total re-read, so this year I just read the newest book. Loved the ending so much, but I'm always hopeful of a return to Mistletoe, Maine!

I love everything written by Robin Stevens. The Murder Most Unladylike books have all been read by myself as well as both my girls. Her most recent book was so good!

Here‘s my review. This book is not on Litsy so I‘m adding it under the tagged book.

This book counts for:

☑️ 3 readathons - #wintergames, #readyourkindle, #bookspinbingo

☑️ 2 hrs of reading (It only took me 2 hrs to read this.)

☑️ Holiday or winter read (This psychological thriller novella is set during Christmas.)
