I‘m a little behind on my February reading for #ChildrensClassicRead2025 I love going down memory lane rereading a favorite book of mine and remembering when I got to watch The Great Lipizzan‘s perform. Here‘s an example of an Levade & a Caprriole- two Airs Above the Ground movements.
This book is a great way to learn about the horses and a fine example of self- actualization and working hard for your dreams.

Finished last night for Feb‘s #ChildrensClassicRead2025 I never really went through a horsey stage as a girl🤷🏻♀️but I can see the appeal. This was a good blend of history & the story of a boy who wants to train & ride the beautiful Lipizzaner stallions he sees everyday delivering for his family‘s bakery in Vienna. It has a good moral of hard work & daring to dream. I also learned a lot about horse training & these beautiful horses.

My mood is not ready for Monday but I took Friday off, so it‘s a short week.
pickWho knew that adored author Marguerite Henry spent her last 2 decades writing and relaxing in Rancho Santa Fe, a community known for its horse ranches & riding trails—and happens to be in my neighborhood! So off I went to the Historical Society where Henry‘s photo is featured on their wall among RSF‘s most famous residents including Bing Crosby & Howard Hughes! Will be reading this Henry bio next by Susan Friedland.
