The Power Twins | Ken Follett
post image
Pickpick

OK, it‘s a fact - Follett can write about anything! I am most definitely not the target audience for this book, but I want to read every book he had written. This book is for a young audience. It‘s about twins and their cousin and they are spending a holiday with their uncle. Turns out the have special gifts which are useful on another galaxy they travel to, and two empires fight for the power over a planet.

EadieB @Tove_Reads A bit of science fiction! 5y
Andrew65 Another genre! 👏 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 How are you doing with the Follett books? I believe you‘re still a few behind? @EadieB 5y

Mehso-so

In between a pick and so so. The writing was really beautiful, full of wonderful landscapes and poetic musing that I really enjoyed. Enrico unfortunately was so annoying it‘s a pity he had to be the one having the thoughts. If I reread it I‘d read all the descriptions and landscapes and just skip forward a few pages every time he gets talking about his grievances against all women :/

AlaMich Judging from your VSI about dictionaries, you should check this out. I really enjoyed it. 5y

Pickpick

Here is the last book I've read in French in 2017! Not available in English (but in Spanish, Italian...). Catherine Poulain brought me fishing in Alaska through this book, something she herself did for 10 years. She uses a poetic language to evoke the harshness of the job, the isolation, the alcohol abuse, the violence of the sea. I just had a great time.
