pickLove the sweet, quirky, childlike, imaginative, rose-colored glasses life, tomboyish protagonist! She's inductive into my hall of fav female characters. This series is early, and thus, different, more cozy, lighter, and more noir-ish, than his more gritty Lincoln Rhyme crime thrillers. so-soMy memory is hazy of when I went through the bulk of the story years ago, but the twist and denouement made little sense to me, not very well explained.
