I think this qualifies as a #toycover?? It‘s creepy as %* for sure, so I wouldn‘t be playing with it if I were a kid. These books are 10/10 creepy. Hate that Mo Hayder passed away - she was a favorite of mine. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #NewYearNewBooks

I like this one @MoonWitch94 🎃🎃🎃

1. I like mystery. I want to figure out the puzzle
2. Serial killers scare the crap outta me so I like to read those but either one works
3. Mo Hyder books are the creepiest I‘ve ever read

MoonWitch94 Thanks for playing 🎃✨📖🏚🕯 2y

It‘s had taken a while for me to pick this up - knowing this is the last book in the series that she wrote before she passed. 😥

BookDragonNotWorm I've yet to find another author who writes as twisted and brutal as she did. ☹️ 3y

Ritual | Mo Hayder
post image

“Hayder . . . moves to another level in this spellbinder. With characters so complex, so fascinating that they could populate a dozen novels, she sends readers into a demimonde of ritual magic, desperation, guilt, and death, all exquisitely composed. . . . Ritual is brilliant, dense, scary; definitely one of the best crime novels of [the year].”—The Globe and Mail

BookDragonNotWorm I love her books! They're so twisted! 3y
deeannloso @BookDragon Me too! I am reading (listening) to her books while waiting for the new Chris Carter book to come out in August. His books are really twisted. 3y

The Treatment | Mo Hayder

“Hayder‘s second novel after the hair-raising Birdman, The Treatment brings Detective Jack Caffery back to investigate the abduction of a little boy, a crime with disturbing parallels to Caffery's own troubled past.”

🌟🌟
This was a completely generic serial killer read for me. Ive read tons of them and there was nothing about this one that stood out. Extremelly weak. character development. The scariests serial killers are the vile, disgusting people, it‘s the normal boy next door or extremely charming that are scary. This was all over the place shock schlock.

Pickpick

I loved this book, despite it being everything everyone warned about in Litsy reviews: gritty, dark, sadistic, frightening. Also so well written, with terrific characters. I often look up a book to see what other littens think of it, and I wasn‘t surprised to see @Andrew65 , @TrishB and others are fans of Mo‘s work. I looked her up to see if she has any new work forthcoming, and discovered the sad news in the photo.

MittenGirlPeach There is a new book that will be published next year—The Book of Sand, under the pseudonym Theo Clare. (edited) 3y
TrishB It is very sad 😢 3y
Andrew65 This is beyond sad 😢😢😢 Will keep an eye out for the book. 3y
