(Day 14 - #HardDaysNight)
*Many of you may not remember Lassie because the books, movies & tv shows began in the 40s. By the time I was watching them as a child, they were already in syndication. But I couldn‘t get that phrase, “working like a dog” and Lassie out of my head, so...
Also, I‘m a day late, I know...but between migraine & the weather, I never got to post this until now. Sorry! 😐
The #anglophileapril version of a #harddaysnight is best exemplified through the servants of an aristocratic British family, am I right?! This 1940‘s English novel focuses on the servants who are living their lives in contrast to the war... dealing with scandal within their own household and finding love amongst one another.
When you are a historian trying to work while being stuck on a small island with your two small children, a husband too focused on his own work, and suffering from insomnia, then every night might feel like a #HardDaysNight. That‘s the reality for Anna. Add the skeleton of a small child into the mix, and you have the recipe for a great book 👌

”It‘s been a hard days night and I‘ve been working like a dog “
*gratuitous photo of the newest members of our family*
I definitely am working like a dog chasing these two around and cleaning up after them. 💩💩

I thought immediately of Audacity for #harddaysnight but then I read about Crowders other book- and it also sounds appropriate....
