pickReally interesting read about Klimt, Emilie Flöge and their surroundings. I learned many new things and was still entertained- it might not be a quick read but it‘s a very pleasant one! 4/5 ⭐️
My fiancé is usually at training on friday night so I have the apartment to my own. With two sleepy cats, tea and a good book it‘s exactly my kind of friday night fun? I‘m currently buddy reading this with @Tanisha_A I‘m only seven chapters in, but so far it‘s very interesting (but also a bit concerning regarding the age of the protagonist Emilie, who later posed for Klimt‘s painting ‚the Kiss‘ and was also his mistress later on)
#CuriousCovers - Abstract Art: This book has a permanent place on my nightstand. It has remained there since our first encounter in 2013. It‘s on a repeat cycle...bottom-middle-top and then again. When one of my fellow book club members suggested a stronger alliance with extraordinary non-fiction, I sang out the praises of this art history book. I told them that they would be enriched. The experience would benefit them. They voted “Yes!”
Not book related, but as some of you know I love counted cross stitch. ❤️ You may also know that I‘ve been working on ‘The Kiss‘ by Gustav Klimt as a Christmas present for my daughter. Well, here‘s the finished product! She wants to add some gold thread and beading and then all that‘s left is to get it framed. #countedcrossstitch #gustavklimt #thekiss

A little bookstore haul with my bookstore bestie @TracyReadsBooks ♥️♥️ We always have the best time exploring the bookstore together and having dinner out. Last night was bittersweet though- we were saying goodbye to an amazing friend and colleague. She will be missed greatly but books help. They always do.
This weekend I saw the Klimt exhibit at The Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum! And thanks to @Cinfhen I‘m currently reading the tagged book, The Lady in Gold. So glad I made the time to do both of these things! This is going to cover the prompt, something you saw on Litsy, for #nonfiction2019
