Pickpick

This is full of shady high-power lawyers, pharmaceutical companies, and stock investors making as many millions as possible while a bad drug is exposed, regardless of the impact a drug has to a patient. I wanted to be done - gratuitous spending and money-grabbing is all kinds of ick. Yet, I was surprising intrigued by Washington DC public defender Clay pulled into that world and finding his way out.

#DoubleSpin Cat: Author‘s canon

marleed @TheAromaofBooks It cracks me up how often ‘author‘s canon‘ is picked as either my #BS or #DS. I believe I have 6 more JG books to go from his backlog as well as keeping up with newly published books before I will have read or reread his entire canon since my 2018 starting point. 1mo
TheAromaofBooks The BookSpin fates REALLY want you to read more John Grisham 😂 1mo

marleed @TheAromaofBooks Indeed! It all started when all my sisters gathered and Sister2‘s home for a reunion of sorts. Sister2 had a stack of JG paperbacks in her donation bin. I noted I liked JG books. Sister1 asked which ones, and I drew a complete blank on the title or specific story of any JG read. I silently decided then/there to read/reread his canon. Sister1 has sadly passed away, but I‘m sticking to my JG goal! 1mo

I very much enjoyed seeing behind the legal profession‘s curtain🥸 I find it all very fascinating, always have. The verbal sparring etc… between the Plaintiff & Defence counsels had me LOL several times🤣 Definitely not my last Grisham or legal thriller📚🤓

CoverToCoverGirl I really enjoy Grisham! 6mo

Pickpick

I picked this up on a whim at a habitat for humanity down in Pittsboro, North Carolina a couple years back and honestly did not expect to like it. A bit simple throughout but I couldn‘t help getting vested in the characters and the story as a whole. I enjoyed the pieces of Italian history, architecture, and opera throughout and I would say overall that this was a fun and enjoyable read.

Back in the day, I devoured all of John Grisham‘s legal thrillers, so this was a reread. Still enjoyed it!

Thanks for the tag, @MoonWitch94 #two4tuesday @TheSpineView

1. When the tree gives up. This year it was 1/1.

2. Rain. Snow means shoveling, even though our HOA is supposed to take care of it...

TheSpineView Thanks for playing! 2y
MoonWitch94 Ughhh yes, I do not like the shoveling. It stresses me out 😵‍💫 2y

Mehso-so

Really can‘t even tell you why this is a so-so and not a complete pan. I enjoyed the brief blurbs of Italian history when they came up, took me back to when I went and had me longing for another trip. He described the games with some angst and fervor, you couldn‘t help but want to know how it ends for the Parma Panthers. Ultimately, not riveting nor a stellar plot. Alas, I have read worse. Definitely not a WOW.
