Excited for this one. I‘m becoming more and more enamored with Japanese literature. This one seems a little dark, but very much looking forward to it.

The Moon Is Always Round | Jonathan Gibson

What I loved about this book was how the father gently reassured his son that no matter what happens in life whether tragic or wonderful, God's love never changes, even though circumstances in life does. The moon is a representation of God being ubiquitous and omnipresent. And it brings great comfort and reassurance for his son as well as to the parents as they mourn the loss of their precious little girl.

I got an early birthday gift from my daughter. She sent me Debbie Macomber the Where Angels Go series set for my new kindle, a new tea mug with a new tea flavor from my favorite tea company and a beverage warmer to keep my tea hot. How lucky am I?

LibrarianRyan Did my box ever make it or is it still being held by the PO. 6y
Wonderwoman89 @LibrarianRyan I am so sorry. I had two boxes that were ruined due to the hurricane. I already told one of my book swaps about it and I believe your box was the other one. I felt it was more re important that you received your box. 6y
LibrarianRyan @Wonderwoman89 dang!!!!! I wish I had known. I would have replace it. The PO told me it was at a “holding station” since I sent it right after the hurricane but before the post office was back open. I will get that rectified. 6y

Wonderwoman89 @LibrarianRyan please don‘t worry about it. Honestly I was more worried about your box being late and I also sent another box to another member and hers came to her with broken pieces. I feel really bad about the boxes being late and having broken items. 6y
LibrarianRyan @Wonderwoman89 I completely understand. I‘m still going to send you something. A surprise in the next month or two. Doubt now that Halloween is over I can get any of the Hocus Pocus things. But it will be fun. Don‘t expect a date. It will be a surprise. You deserve it. You can not help the weather. 😁 6y
Wonderwoman89 @LibrarianRyan please don‘t go out of your way. Honestly I feel better knowing all of my boxes are sent out and things can go back to normal. 6y

Well-intentioned, but poorly executed. This is a diverse, hopeful book meant to reassure children that most people are good. A needed message, especially now. But it implies that people who swear are bad. It tells children that “a person who is frowning and mad, or sad, or mean is like a sour grape in a bunch of sweet grapes...Everyone looks nicer when they smile and laugh.” Ummmm...no. Just no.

Gezemice That‘s an awful message. A person who is sad is suffering... and we should all be more understanding of that. 6y
Blaire Oh no. Like girls haven‘t been told to “smile” enough. Grrr. 😡 6y
Susanita Oh hell no. 6y
