Every December, posing as Father Christmas, Tolkien wrote a letter to his children. It may not be a novel exactly, but it‘s one of the books I‘m looking forward to reading this month, so I couldn‘t resist. #deardecember #epistolarynovel #wintergames #merryreaders

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I read that last December, so much fun. 5y
Godmotherx5 I found it on Audible. Thanks for posting. #feelingfestive 5y

Gingerbread Cookie Murder | Joanne Fluke, Laura Levine, Leslie Meier

It's a cozy kind of morning. I finished the Joanne Fluke story yesterday, which was cute and predictable, just like all of her Hannah Swenson books. I haven't read anything of the other two authors, so I don't know what to expect from them. Hoping to find two new authors to love.

TEArificbooks Leslie Meier is also good, she writes the Lucy Stone series where all the cozy mysteries are based on holidays. I love her character Lucy Stone 6y
Chronic_Reader How do you like the Hannah Swenson series (in terms of a cozy mystery)? I agree with @mdm139 that the Lucy Stone series by Leslie Meier is a good, fun series! 6y
Traci1 @mdm139 I'm pretty sure I have one of hers. One about a birthday maybe? I just haven't gotten to it yet. Can they be read out of order or is it best to start with book one? 6y

Traci1 @Chronic_Reader I find them to be like the twilight books in that the writing isn't great, and I groan and roll my eyes quite a lot. But there's just something about them that makes me all warm and gooey. Hannah can be an insufferable prude, but I love the books anyway. Probably helps that I've watched the movies and see and hear the actors (that I love) when I read the books. 6y
Traci1 @Chronic_Reader if you have access to the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel, I'd recommend the murder she baked movies (that are based on the Fluke books). They're tons of fun and in some ways better than the books. Ali Sweeney plays Hannah, and I really like her in the role. 6y
TEArificbooks @Tracy1 you can read them out of order, the only thing that changes through out all the books is the ages of her kids. First book her 4th kid isnt even born yet and latest books her 4th is college age. But for the most part the stories stand alone. They are even quicker reads than the Hannah books and I like Lucy as a character better than Hannah. 6y
Traci1 @mdm139 great! Thanks. 6y
ericarobynreads I love these books so much! Such fun and light reads! 6y
