This poor girl had to endure so much at a young age. Heartbreaking but well written and intriguing story that will stick with me for awhile.❤️

My friend and I decided to do a book exchange where we both select and wrap twelve books for the other. Then each month we get to open and read our predetermined blind date book. 😁
This was the one she gave me for January. I've read Picoult before, but it's been many years. Seems this particular title has had some very mixed reviews, so here's hoping I end up falling in with those on the positive side. 😊🤞
Have YOU read this book?
Beautifully written with the main character, Rosanne, who you will love and who will pull at your heartstrings.
ONLY THE BEAUTIFUL is another marvelous, marvelous read by Susan Meissner that fans will not want to miss and one I didn‘t want to put down.
Enjoy, and have some tissues ready!! 5/5

I enjoyed the first half about Rosie more than the second half about Helen. Every other chapter time shifts & I enjoyed the “now“ more than the “before“ chapters. Set in Sonoma Valley, it was fun to read about the descriptions of the vineyard. I would read more of the author's novels when I'm in the mood for historical fiction. The main character has synesthesia which reminded me of YA novel A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass.
This is my first order since we‘ve moved! Oh how I‘ve missed cheap book orders from #betterworldbooks! Building #grammaslibrary one(?) book at a time!
I really enjoyed this historical fiction. This was set in the 1960s in North Carolina. I loved the characters for the most part. Jane had such a strong conviction for right and wrong. Thanks to Diane Chamberlain for this wonderful story. 5/5

Wow, I loved this. On the edge on my seat and finished it in two days.
It‘s about a newly graduated Black nurse in Alabama working at a family planning clinic in 1973, shortly after the uncovering of the Tuskegee syphilis experiments. She fiercely fights for her patients, including a pair of young girls, ages 11 and 13. This novel jumps through time between 1973 and 2016 where she reflects on their case.
Highly recommended.
Willow helping me read outside today.

PROMPT: WITH PHYSICIAN
Jane, a physician's wife, was the new social worker dealing with the Hart and Jordan families.
NECESSARY LIES is the perfect title because lies were necessary for the characters to survive. It is heart wrenching yet informative as you follow the characters through their inadequate, restricted days.
