I had a complicated relationship with this and for a while was just reading because a friend recommended it. It took too long for the author to invite me into the story (2 hours), I hated how many sections there were before chapter 1, and a lot of stuff felt unnecessary in the begging. After about 10 hours I did start enjoying things and looking forward to what happened next. I wish the women had more page time or there were more women leads.
I found this one, or at least the first three parts of it, harder to get through than the previous book in the series. Nevertheless, I liked seeing Shadesmar via the Adolin and Shallan storyline, and the last part of the book had me frequently picking my jaw up off the floor as I have often experienced with Sanderson's work. I will be interested to see where this goes in Wind and Truth... but not for a little while, haha.

First snow fall of the season calls for an epic chunkster ❤️ eventually I‘ll finish it but I‘m enjoying the slow ride

I got my #JolabokaflodSwap, thank you @TheDaysGoBy! Very excited to find out what's inside and immerse myself in it guilt-free because... I finished the Wheel of Time series, finally, after beginning the first one way back in 2019. Fourteen books and thousands and thousands of pages. I like that the ending wasn't what I expected. It's a decent series but I disagree with the NYT that it could ever compare to or surpass LOTR. @maleficentbookdragon

The Cryptic waved again. “I get annoyed easily!“ she said. “It's endearing!“
“No it's not,“ Wit said.
I am the Cryptic and my spouse is Wit in this scenario, LOL.

It‘s been a minute since I‘ve walked around a bookstore with no plans just vibes. These are the first two books that caught my eye so I figured I‘d add them to my December tbr.
Have you read these? Let me know which one I should start first in the comments.

#readingbracket2025 ! Can‘t believe we have only one month left till the end of the year and then we will have to choose our favorite of the year! This month my fav was Sanderson again. I‘ve been loving our #cosmerebuddyread all year and we still have many of his books left to read in 2026!
