repost for @Ruthiella

Hey #EBBR friends. Happy new year to you! We are kicking 2026 of with the rather ominously titled tagged book which is I think no. 12 in the series. Hope you can join in. 👍

This buddy read is open to anyone. If you would like to be added to or removed from the tag list, let me know.

Ruthiella Thank you!🙏 1w

DGRachel I saw that title and blanched. 😳 1w
Ruthiella @DGRachel I know, right? 😬 (edited) 1w

DebinHawaii I pulled 11 & 12 off the library shelves by their number on the back & didn‘t pay any attention to the title. I had to check & see if I had the right book because you would think I would have noticed! 😂😱 1w
Ruthiella @dabbe Thank you! 🙏 1w
Ruthiella @DebinHawaii I didn‘t notice right away either. 😂😱 1w

The cases were a little bizarre but the stories were entertaining regardless. The only issue I have is that most of the solutions required obscure knowledge. I came close to getting a couple of them, but didn‘t manage to fully solve any. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ruthiella I found the solutions super obscure and unlikely this time around. But it was good fun nonetheless. 😅 2w
DGRachel @Ruthiella I was surprised how much I enjoyed it considering how impossible the solutions were. 2w

#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished last weekend for #EBBR & as usual, I didn‘t review it right after I read it & forgot most of it but I did solve a few. I do remember typing sentence (high school typing class) & the rattling dollar but I missed several of these as the solutions were really odd tiny details. I don‘t really remember this one from childhood, but, it still gets a soft pick for nostalgia‘s sake.

Ruthiella The devil really was in the details in this one. Hat sizes? And wouldn‘t the sandwich have made the shoes or hat smell? 😆 2w

Happy holidays #EBBR friends. How‘d you get on with this month‘s selection? I didn‘t really even try. The solutions felt waaaay far fetched. Hat sizes? Words that start and end with the same two letters? The only one I solved was The Case of the Window Dressers along with Sally. 😂

I‘m pretty sure I read this one before because a few of the cases felt familiar. I had fun reading it, even though the “mysteries” were pretty thin.

RaeLovesToRead "The case of the exploding toilet???" 3w
Ruthiella @RaeLovesToRead Yup! The book is geared toward 10 year olds, after all! 😆 3w

#Naturalitsy #HyggeHourReadathon

For tonight‘s #HyggeHour I‘m reading the 11th Encyclopedia Brown book for #EBBR & then probably starting the pictured cozy for #FictionalTraveler

I‘m on the couch drinking holiday herbal tea & eating a local chocolate bar with lilikoi & coconut.

Mood is fine. It will be a busy but short week with a trip to Hilo & a 3-day weekend & I‘m happy about that.

Ruthiella Nice! I also just started the Encyclopedia Brown tonight. 👍 3w
AllDebooks Cosy mysteries are a must. Enjoy you short week. X 3w

6/10 solution rate. 😂

#EBBR @Ruthiella

Ruthiella Not too bad! I feel like the solutions are becoming a bit more of a stretch in these later books! 😅 1mo

Every month I read the book for #EBBR & then don‘t write down my results & return it to the library before I get around to reviewing it! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I think I was only somewhat successful in solving the mysteries in this one but who knows?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn‘t remember them from childhood so I may have missed this one, #10 in the series. It gets a soft pick as they mostly all do.

Ruthiella I sometimes weirdly do remember the occasional solution to a case from childhood. But only with Encyclopedia. With Nancy Drew, I have absolutely no memory. 😅 1mo
DebinHawaii @Ruthiella I usually remember some of them but this book I didn‘t & I‘m hit or miss with Nanners! 😆 1mo

Every time I finish one of these I‘m reminded of why I did not like them as a child. Even as an adult, I fail to solve more than half. 🤣🤣 While we don‘t have the random teeth collection, this one gives us recovered false teeth for reward money (eew), plenty of Bugs Meany and friends, and more Sally sass than ever. Love to see her.
#ebbr

Ruthiella I love Sally too! She and Encyclopedia are a great team. 1mo
DGRachel @Ruthiella They really are. I love how she‘s out front calling the bullies out while Encyclopedia is hanging back like, umm maybe let‘s not antagonize the dude that‘s 7 feet tall and 250 lbs. 🤣🤣 1mo

Hey #EBBR friends! This is your reminder to source your copy of the December title. This is book No.11 in the 25 plus book series. Apparently it was also reissued under the title
“Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Exploding Plumbing and Other Mysteries“.
Please let me know if you want to continue to be tagged in these posts next year. Also, if anyone would like to join, say the word.

Ruthiella Thank you! 😊 1mo
