"Our whole assessment of the world can be transformed according to how much water we have drunk or sleep we have had."

And let's not even mention how I turn into somebody else if I have not eaten enough lately ;)

willaful A shame Dobbin doesn't have more #emotionalintelligence or he might not have pushed the marriage so fast. 🙄 1y

BarkingMadRead @willaful he was so eager to make her happy, he didn‘t realize it probably wouldn‘t in the long run 1y
willaful But also really eager to get it over with so he didn't have to deal with “what ifs“ and feel disloyal. I think Thackery is such an excellent psychologist! 1y

dabbe Mr. Osborne says this: “I ain‘t particular about a shade or so of tawny“ about Ms. Swartz. Yowza! He doesn't mind if she's not completely white because she has money, but he thinks Amelia is a piece of dirt now that her father's poor? What a jackass! 🫏

The visual layout of this book made it a good one for breakfast reading before work. Nothing here was Earth shattering, but it was a very good reminder of how to handle emotions at work.

Larkken I‘ll have to suggest this for my at-work book club! 2y
Bookwormjillk @Larkken I think it would be a really good one for a group discussion! 2y

The study of EI has been on my radar for a long time as a subject I wanted to learn more about. I was turned on to this book while listening to podcasts on the Be Here Now Network. It‘s a lengthy book that defines EI and explains the difference between EI and IQ. Goleman highlighted the benefits of EI. Once a thorough foundation is laid, Goleman applies EI to many emotions people experience. #MountTBR

I have mixed feelings on this one. The first 1/2 was good & then it all became about raising children. Not my cup of tea🤷🏻‍♀️

Nunca debemos olvidar que también podemos encontrar un sentido en la vida, incluso cuando nos enfrentamos a una situación desesperada, cuando enfrentamos un destino que no se puede cambiar.
.
We must never forget that we may also find meaning in life even when confronted with a hopeless situation, when facing a fate that cannot be changed.

Had to read this 4 work. Hence the post-its! This was an informative read & one that working people should read. I‘ll admit some of the chapters were triggering for me bc of where I‘m at in my career & past decisions, but overall am glad I read it. The illustrations make it a very readable book.
