Dead Man's Land | Robert Ryan

so-so

The premise sounded intriguing:
During WW1 John Watson works as a front army doctor and has to solve a murder. I thought the balance was a bit off. The story is told from different POVs and at the beginning Watson got short shrift. Holmes has only a small role in this, because he and Watson are estranged (can that trope die, please? Try something else for drama). It got better and I might pick up the sequel, still only a so-so.
