I had read the second book in this series already, but since they aren't connected really other than having the same authors and a m.c. named Jane, it didn't matter. I liked Plain Jane, but I loved this one. I definitely enjoyed the story more, but Katherine Kellgren read this one brilliantly. I think she may be my new favorite narrator.

I enjoy listening to these while I'm doing other things, but I do wish some of the cases Dallas gets could not be wrapped up with Roarke. He's always somehow involved, and it's getting a bit stale.

I enjoyed this one, but not as much as Lovegrove's Sherlock Holmes and the Christmas Demon. I think, as much as I enjoy fantasy in its own right, I prefer more realism and logical deduction with Sherlock.

This one is a soft pick. It's definitely not as good as book one, but it ended strong, and I feel like the series as a whole is worth getting through the less terrific ones. I'm slowly catching up to book 6, where I left off. I'm not sure if I'll pick up any more of these this year, but we'll see.

I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed this more or less if I'd read it in the correct chronological order. This one takes place prior to the last two novels, and if I'd not read those, I would not have had the aha moment of realizing who these characters end up being later on. It was a good, if a bit scary, little story.

This would have been a 4 star pick if it just weren't so long. I'm not big on rom-com books, but this one hooked me in the beginning. I liked the characters, and enjoyed the story. But the last 3rd of the book dragged, and the ever repeating conflict was overdone. I've got her second book on my kindle, but now I'm not sure if I want to read it.

These 8 stories ran the gamut from moderately funny to bleak and depressing. I enjoyed the gingerbread house one, but the others were either just ok or painful to read (listen to). Had I any experience with this author before I might have been expecting the bleak more. But then I probably wouldn't have picked it up.
