It‘s stupid cold. I‘ve made myself finish off a cowl and I‘ll start something else. The Witchstone is fun though. Kinda jaunty with the air of a heist yet to happen.

Overall, *The Chain of Thorns* is a thrilling, emotional conclusion that honors the series and its characters, even if it stumbles in a few places.
#AuldLangSpine @Itchyfeetreader @monalyisha What a unique and hard-to-describe novel. Thank you so much for this rec! It was at times dreamlike and untethered, à la This is How You Lose the Time War (one of my favorites). And yet at other times it had a plot that was crystal clear. Sometimes piercing sorrow, sometimes laugh-out-loud humor, sometimes steamyyy sexual tension. Also fascinating and different to read a book set over many centuries…
Meh. Could have done without this novella. It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read the original book and I was excited to be back in this world. However, I was outside of the world for too long and didn‘t really remember anyone or what happened. It‘s probably a it‘s me and not you thing.
This was an okay read for me. I really liked Their Vicious Games, but I wasn't feeling this demonic horror as much. Devon, the main character, struck me as a bit immature. I think it was too campy for me. None of the characters resonated. It could have been the audio book. I did like the twist.
4/5
Vitrine is a demon with a city. Until that city is burned to ground by angels. Vitrine must grieve and eventually rebuild her city, while dealing with the presence of the angel she cursed.
It's a book about grieving and rebuilding. It's beautiful and strange, but I really enjoyed it.
I thought the narrator did a wonderful job bringing Vitrine's voice to life.

I thought the story was good as well as the graphics. Ending left me disappointed.

Enjoy!
This is Casey‘s, “OMG THE TOAST POPPED” face. Little dude loves breakfast foods.
He‘s gonna help me finish THE CITY IN GLASS this morning. It‘s very good but not propulsive, so I haven‘t torn through it the way I usually do with Nghi Vo‘s work. Still, it builds beautifully. I expect affecting things from the ending.
For my book club we read Red Rabbit, which I would characterize as a spaghetti horror western. A ragtag group set off across the plains to collect a bounty on a witch, running into all sorts of horrors along the way. It was a bloody ride! But there‘s more at play than the group realizes. I loved the two cowboys, Ned and Moses. This is a genre I would love to read more of! The cover is also gorgeous.
