AnnR @Bklover - Exactly! Surely Mrs. Moore's son will blab to other people in his 'peer' group about Dr. Aziz, especially Mr. Callendar which will cause all sorts of problems. 1y

AnnR Chap 3: I highlighted this because it was so disturbing. Mrs. Callendar is just awful!

“—I was a nurse in a Native State. One‘s only hope was to hold sternly aloof.” “Even from one‘s patients?” “Why, the kindest thing one can do to a native is to let him die,” said Mrs. Callendar. “How if he went to heaven?” asked Mrs. Moore, with a gentle but crooked smile. “He can go where he likes as long as he doesn‘t come near me. They give me the creeps.” 1y

Ruthiella @willaful Yes, she‘s from S&S. She‘s the mother of Lady Middleton. Sir John is Mrs. Dashwood‘s cousin who provides a cottage for Mrs. Dashwood and her daughters once Fanny Dashwood convinces her husband to do nothing for his stepmother and half sisters. She‘s a little low class and makes off color remarks but truly is a kind and generous woman. 2y
