Elín,makes props for theater&films,is “mother to no one”& has no family. She lives in an old house she remodeled, with a tenant, yet I‘m not sure if the tenant is real or imagined. Especially towards the end reality, memory& imagination seem to blur. On her latest job she works on a play written by Ellen, the illegitimate daughter of a famous Finnish author. The girl is as lonely as Elín& she starts stalking her. There‘s something that
This book was absolutely hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. If you like film references, simultaneously embracing and bashing Hallmark Christmas movies, and a irritation-to-easy friends-to-star crossed lovers facing an seemingly impossible situation (not world-ending stakes) that makes use of many a Rom-Com trope, then you will enjoy this book!
I like the two sisters — Addie and Tessa Jane — but many of the secondary characters are indistinguishable from each other. The resolution of the problem the sisters have seems a little rushed, but I liked that the romances were not the center of the story. I saw two alligators and a lot of turtles on my #audiowalk; I‘ve worked at this university for over 20 years and never saw a single alligator even though I‘ve known they were there.
I like Webber‘s books for listening to after heavy reading; her stories are sweet with low stakes conflict with a little magic mixed in. This is her new one, and it‘s my new #audiowalk book. It wasn‘t too hot to walk outside this evening, so I took advantage of that. Turtles were out again.
Such an adorable story. I loved a lot of the characters throughout the story. It was a great workplace romance.

I picked this up from the library without reading the blurb...it was definitely a surprise! Despite the fact the cover says "A Love Story," I didn't realize it was a rom-com. Yes, that's my own sexism on display. ?
That said, it was a cute, light-hearted read. I'm not a huge romance reader, but every once in a while I enjoy them, and this hit the spot.
Oh, and it was my #doublespin pick, so yay!
