Bookwomble I'll be expecting a selfie with tonsured hair! 😄 (I'm naturally developing a monkish hairstyle! 👴) 2w
bibliothecarivs @Bookwomble I dress as Friar Tuck each Halloween and once my wife helped shave a tonsure, which is kind of difficult because I don't have much hair to begin with 😆 2w

This came highly suggested in a Google search. While I‘ve reconnected with my faith, That wasn‘t the draw. Just trying to learn to be a more present, less anxious and triggered mom. Just out here trying to break generational trauma- no easy task. This was honestly only ok. Pretty mediocre as parenting books go.

Avanders There‘s this book re breaking generational trauma I was looking at… have you read it? 3w
BethM @Avanders I have not, but The body keeps the score has been referenced in a lot of my trauma informed trainings. 3w
Avanders Yes that‘s another one — I have it in the house somewhere but haven‘t read it yet either… 3w

Started this book a couple of hours ago and I‘m more than halfway through. Absolutely cannot put it down. Man‘s inhumanity to man is beyond comprehension but so too can be man‘s resiliency when anchored in faith ❤️

Finished this one on the beach today and loved it. It‘s about nuns and their various social justice initiatives. I‘ve been pretty heavily involved with an environmental ministry this year and I am going to recommend all my tree hugger ladies read this empowering and motivating book.

(Beach is Cumberland National Seashore in Georgia. So worth the logistics involved!)

TheBookHippie I loved this book! 2mo
Bookwormjillk @TheBookHippie it was so good! I was surprised at how relatable it was. 2mo
TheBookHippie @Bookwormjillk one of the social justice nuns we protest with recommended it to me. 2mo

Saw this recommended a bunch. Engaging and pretty solid.

MaureenMc I haven‘t read this one yet but it‘s on my shelf. 2mo
BethM @MaureenMc it definitely held my attention. I was raised Catholic and left, but am now coming back to my faith. Until recently I‘d never experienced anti Catholic sentiment so this perspective really captivated me. 2mo
MaureenMc @BethM I‘ve read Hahn‘s The Lamb‘s Supper & would recommend it. It seems that many of the current “famous” Catholics are converts who grew up with, or were at least surrounded by, anti-Catholic beliefs. I find their stories quite fascinating, actually. Godspeed on your journey. ❤️ 2mo

This was my gift from the local church. It passed the censors by being an unimaginative tattoo of the idea that "the Messiah is among you. Choose to make each moment holy." That's not how it works. Nobody cares. I am evil but I could choose to be good. So what? Tell me a story, like... The Five People (YMiH). Give me a vision of how life might work and how my choices affect things. This is a common flaw in "inspirational" literature. No story.
