Loved her writing even though I don't like multiple narrators. Felt more like a short story collection than a novel. Not a fan of short stories. But because her writing is beautiful I'm giving it 3.5/5 stars

Accepting that our #GoingforGold #bookolympics challenge failed and fell by the wayside this week. Life got in the way sadly, but we are getting stuck into this beauty of a book. I am just falling in love with Chaol 😍 and Celaena is my ultimate love ❤️

"I still loved Mooshum, of course, but with this tale something in my regard of him was disturbed, as if I'd stepped into a clear stream and silt had billowed up around my feet."

Such imagery! It's been years since I've read Erdrich but now I remember why I was so obsessed with her writing.

Kept feeling like I had read this before but when I checked the publication date it said 2016. Think Nora Roberts wrote a similar story but much better. The cover is pretty though. Makes me wish there was an island near by that I could weekend on.

Love it when you pick up a book off of the "Lucky Day" shelf at the library and it turns out to be great! My first in the #bookolympics

UGH. THE ENDING WAS TERRIBLE. I recommended this book to so many because it was beautifully written and a wonderful idea for a story and I was loving it. THE ENDING RUINED IT ALL. Cliche and I just UGHHHHH IT WAS SUCH A WASTE. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

GinaAnderson Oh that is too bad. I hate when writers take the easy way out. 8y
maximoffs @GinaAnderson nothing irks me more than when authors use "the power of love" to heal people 8y

GinaAnderson @steverogers Yes! They might was well just write: "I have no idea how to wrap this up so here's your happy ending. I'm out." 8y

The audiobook of this was only 30 minutes which made it easy to fly through. Had some great tidbits, probably would have been more amazing in person. 3/5 stars.
