What a wonderful #jolabokaflod package! Thank you @Readergrrl 🙂. I love that you sent local chocolate, and the mustache is really fun.
I love bird watching and I‘ve heard this is terrific. Definitely looking forward to reading it. Thank you!

#5JoysFriday @DebinHawaii it's been a very busy week with one more Christmas market to do tomorrow and baking for it. But I do look for joys just for this challenge.
1. #WinterGames24 with co-host @StayCurious
2. Sold a candle set I made
3. My dog treats are selling well at the markets
4. I bought a bird feeder
5. Oakley took my side of the bed where she looked so cute I couldn't move her
Another pleasant little book about birds, but make it by Amy Tan!?! Yes please! This is just a delight for nature lovers and the illustrations are superb, which Tan taught herself to do. This is another one of those to dip in and out of throughout the year as it doesn‘t need to be read in one go. I did lost n to her narrate it though which also added some extra depth to the experience. So I guess do bot: print and audio!
November Fiction #ReadingBracket2024
It was difficult to pick my favorite this month. I read a few really unique romances
When the owner of a bird sanctuary announces he wants to sell it, he is found dead next day. George Palmer-Jones works out who did it but he needs his wife's help to prove it.
The locked room is an island cut off from the mainland by the tides but this is a great classic form mystery which I thoroughly enjoyed.
A well-known birdwatcher is found dead in a marsh pool but killed by a blow to the head. The father of a young birdwatcher who is one of the suspects asks George Palmer-Jones to investigate.
One of the author's earlier works, from the 1980s. It nods towards the classic mystery mode, but is trying to break free, quite literally as characters rush about from Norfolk to the Scilly Isles to the North of Scotland at a moment's notice.
I love finding watermarks! I hauled this book recently and, beyond the well-written descriptions and plates which will be an excellent birding resource, I was thrilled to find this watermark for Warren‘s Olde Style. A quick search uncovers that this was a line from S.D. Warren Company, Boston. The official description, taken from an advertising digest I found online is, “a watermarked antique finish for type and line illustration.” Cool!
The tagged book was my favorite read in August, but it wasn‘t better than a Tempest of Tea for me.
My favorite read of September was a Fall of Wrath and Ruin.
