Wow - this book is breath-taking. The writing is an honest and raw examination of the lengths we go through to be loved by others. How much of ourselves do we forfeit to be desirable to another? How much abuse do we take? Through the narrator we learn that sometimes being with someone is lonelier than solitude. This is a book about self-loathing, desire, and desperation. Dark, difficult, and full of depth. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

TheNerdyProfessor @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen @megabooks I really hope you enjoy it! It is similar to My Dark Vanessa in terms of darkness but has the feeling of reading someone's diary. And at times I could relate to the narrator even when I didn't want to. 4y

#BookoftheMonth is LIVE! 🎉 Having a second #BOTM account is dangerous! 🤣 I chose five books this month (even though my #TBR is out of control). My main pick was #OurKindofCruelty because it received high praise from #GillianFlynn. I added #TheAnimators b/c it‘s the June #LitsyBuddyRead pick. Everyone keeps raving about #Circe, so even though it‘s not my typical genre, I added it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2BR02B I've started allowing myself to buy as many botm books as I read the previous month, so at least my tbr isn't actively growing anymore. At one point I went like four months without reading any of my picks, and it exploded. 7y

Hooked_on_books I picked The Oracle Year and The Last Equation from last month. Did they finally fix the credit issue? 7y

Jess7 Yes! It was fixed - there were boxes underneath each extra book if you wanted to pay $9.99 for it instead of using a credit @Hooked_on_books 7y
