I‘m on a quest to read all the aspec nonfiction written for the general public that I can find, and these are the next three up on my list. I‘m hoping to get to them soon, sprinkled in amongst my other reading. So far, Ace by Angela Chen has been the most accessible and well written on the topic. I appreciate the primer format but I‘d love to find more aspec memoirs and literary nonfiction.

Megabooks All these are on my list too! I‘d also like to read this. Have you read it? 2y
Megabooks I follow Cody on Instagram. 👍🏻 2y
psalva @Megabooks I have read that one, and it‘s worthwhile. It‘s a bit more academic but still accessible. The author drew heavily on interviews and survey results and presents a lot of terminology but the book is really well organized and not too dry. I feel like it had more intersectionality represented as well. I‘d like to reread it to compare it to Chen‘s book at some point. 2y
psalva @Megabooks I enjoy Cody‘s Instagram- very informative. I have high hopes for that one 😊 2y

Pickpick

This is a valuable addition to the growing canon of asexual literature. Young uses data from AVEN as well as 39 in-depth interviews to explore the diverse lived experiences of asexual people. It‘s qualitative research results presented in a well organized, interesting way, with detailed citations and a great list of resources to boot. Well worth the read and earns a place as a future reference that I will revisit often.
