I read the first three chapters of DEATHMAKER while I drank this delicious Stone Cutter Sour from Namesake Brewing. (The promised ginger is pretty subtle, but the tart lemon shines.) The book‘s action-packed so far, with a good hook. I‘ve done a bit of scrambling to remember the wider conflicts introduced in the first book, which I read months ago, but Buroker makes it easy to catch up.

Realm of Ice and Sky is a thrilling narrative of polar exploration via of airship and the men who sacrificed everything to make history:
Walter Wellman pioneered polar and trans-Atlantic airship aviation making history‘s first attempt.
1908 American explorer Dr Frederick Cook first to claim he made it to the North Pole.
1909 American Robert Peary made it to the North Pole.

EadieB 1926 Amundsen and Norge flew over the North Pole.
1928 Nobile returned but the journey ended in disaster.
If you like thrilling books, then you will love this book. Highly recommended!

Finally! The second book in the cinder spires is out. It seems it finishes in a bit of a cliffhanger which is a bummer but I am excited about this book because I loved the first one in the series.

You‘ve got to love a guy who dedicates his book to his animal companions. He loves his fur babies.

This book gives a whole lot of flight history and information starting with hot air balloons up to aircraft. Truly informative.

This did not work. The cover is perfect for a Romantasy novel.

Reading the second book right after the first book I noticed that a lot had changed within the two years of book timeline between Windlass and Olympian Affair.

#RushAThonChristmasBingo - Didn't live up to the hype/Disappointing book

julesG Characters act very differently from how they acted in book 1, like friends suddenly hating each other - did I miss something?

There is more naked flesh and sexual content in this book than I expected. I'm not saying I expected a 'clean' book, but compared to the first book this came as a surprise.

The story dragged on for too long. It could have been trimmed down.

The novella was slightly better than the first book.

julesG The cover should have been a huge giveaway - name of author larger than title of book. 🙈🙈🙈 #petpeeve 2y
TheSpineView Disappointing. Hope the next one is better 2y
