A fictionalization of a real story, this was okay. I didn't like the writing style the author chose to use, but I did get used to it.

Sweet tale of a young man and his first year of forestry in a mountain village.
Full ofvthe natural world, our place in it and a sense of belonging.
I'm thrilled to see there's a sequel.

Set mainly in Tanzania & South Africa, this thriller centers around a journalist, Alex, who falls in love with the charismatic photographer, Ranna. Though there‘s a lot of pushing back and forth, avoiding the truth, the reason eventually spills out. Its uneven pacing made this drag a bit, but I appreciated the setting, even though I didn‘t particularly care about any of these characters. There is a sequel, but this ends satisfyingly enough for me!

Creepy. Kate isn‘t altogether right in her head Sind her personal tragedy and her last major case, but her bosses ask her to come back to cover her Superintendent‘s friend‘s death. As murders mount up obviously connected to the 1st, Kate feels like she is being set up and attempts to get her personal life under control. Not all ends are tied up, so you can see that there will be another book in the series.

This was my April #Roll100 and #DoubleSpin

This is a coming of age story based in the Japanese mountains where the MC is sent to train in forestry. While it was a slow paced read, it was full of detail and i enjoyed learning about the forest industry over the course of a year.

Happy #WorldBookDay (or 1 of them) / #SantJordi / #DayofBooksandRoses / #SaintGeorgesDay everyone! It is celebrated on this day because it is the anniversary of the death of Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, but as it happens, the author I am reading right now - Teresa de la Parra - also died on April, 23rd.

My #Roll100 for April is the tagged book.
I got this ebook a few years ago as part of Amazon‘s world book day, so I am looking forward to giving it a go!

PuddleJumper Looks like an interesting read 10mo
rwmg Loved it. Did you get the sequel, which was one of Amazon's world book day offerings the year after? 10mo

I‘m finally feeling like I‘m going to get better so I‘m dusting my bedroom and killing myself with allergies. This includes rearranging TBR bookshelves. This one has 65 books I haven‘t read and 8 that I have 🤦🏻‍♀️ these are primarily second hand book finds. I have a problem. ( the 4 DG books and the Lunar Chronicles series are read ) #worldbookday

dabbe Looks like you're set with books for a while. But are we truly ever settled? 🤔😍😂 10mo
mcctrish @dabbe this is a drop in the bucket and no, not even close to settled. The beauty of this stackage was that once I read them I am to give them away since they were all super cheap or free. And yet. Here they sit. Waiting their turn. 10mo

Apparently, it's World Book Day today! Anybody sending their child off to school dressed up as a character from a book? I feel I am missing out: my child is an adult and my grandchild is too young, LOL. (Although to be fair, admiring cute dressed-up children is a lot less stressful than actually devising a costume and getting them ready in the morning!)
