Willie: An Autobiography | Willie Nelson, Bud Shrake

I lost my sweet Willie today. It wasn't unexpected as he'd been sick for a long time and he was nearly 16, but I'm still heartbroken. I'm so tired and teary and really just need a good happy book (with no animals) I can listen to. All recommendations would be appreciated.

I‘m not really the target audience for e graphic memoir of Willie Nelson anyway but I was baffled by the use of so many different artists, complicating who the continuing characters were in the different sections. I‘m not some massive #WillieNelson fan, but I enjoyed the hell out of his story. Prior to this, I was not familiar with his early career at all. I didn‘t realize he was such a prolific songwriter. His long career and tumultuous personal life are definitely worth your time. It will surprise no one that he‘s an amazing storyteller.

Tie-dyeing some shirts and listening to this #WillieNelson memoir. I randomly grabbed it from #Overdrive and it‘s a great listen so far! I feel like all I‘m missing is a fat joint. 😆
